John Danaher Back Attacks instructional is out

I've been watching the Danaher Back Attacks and I have a question about his RNC finish. He prefers what he calls the "rotational" finish to the more traditional bring your elbows together squeeze (if you've watched the series you know what I'm referring to). My question is: would Danaher's...

What does the may/mac say about the the level of striking in MMA?

Conor lacks important boxing fundamentals. Most glaringly, his punching technique is all arms. He does not turn the hips or bring his lower posterior chain into the punches. He is "winging it" and leave a lot of power on the table. Floyd realized this early on: Conor's punches could not hurt...

Cotto vs Garcia in talks at 154

This would be a nice send-off for Cotto. I would like Mikey in the fight. But would be a really fun fight to watch.

Adonis Stevenson vs. Eleider Alvarez in Serious Negotiations

I thought Stevenson vs. Ward was next.

Guide to transfering weight in boxing punches? Do or dont? When?

Very often pros will be doing the weight transfer so economically you don't really pick up on it, especially in a combo. It's just drop the hips and twist, bang bang, and they look like they're just standing there, but they are using gravity, torque, the entire lower posterior chain and overall...

    Fast Handed & Intelligent fighters

Fast hands are great but fast feet are better. All those guys listed have outstanding footwork. As you noticed, timing is greater than hand speed. But a few more I'd add to the fast hands list are Amir Khan, Lomachenko, and Guillermo Rigondeaux. Two of them are southpaws, so that may not be...

Wladimir Klitschko is greater than Marciano, Liston, Frazier, Foreman, Norton, Lyle, Cooney

Wlad managed to do alright in arguably the worst era for heavyweights of all time. A lot of those fighters you list actually had to fight one another--and others--who were great fighters. Wlad has great longevity for sure, but never really was it steel sharpening steel--which is not his fault...

Cotto vs Garcia in talks at 154

Cotto looked old that last bout.
  9. Q

What does the may/mac say about the the level of striking in MMA?

Mac's stance and fundamentals, boxing-wise, were not great. He's a tremendous athlete and was able to get by on that and his size for a few rounds. But he should have brought in some real boxing trainers and not the yes man crew he had. Things like chin down, hands up, should be instinctual and...

    IT'S ALL OVER!!!!!!

Conor got knocked out by a slower, smaller, older man.

    IT'S ALL OVER!!!!!!

Conor gassed; Floyd smashed. Just as expected.
  12. Q

The casual in me is kicking in , how are you guys so confident Mayweather wins?

Conor fights with his hands down, chin up far too much. Bad habits that will come back to haunt him in this fight. He relies on controlling range with his legs and, most importantly, his leg kick (which he cannot use); Floyd is a master of range. Conor has been prone to gassing out at times in...

What do u tell yourself after an off day sparring

Try to learn from your mistakes and understand that the bad days are necessary to get you to the good days ahead. Most of all have fun! Unless you're a pro, it should be fun or why do it?

Unarmed techniques against knife attackers are stupid

Is the OP really advocating knife fights? Have you never heard the old saying about a knife fight? The loser dies on the scene; the winner dies in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. A knife fight is lose/lose.

I've now watched most of your youtube videos now and found them entertaining and helpful. I hope you keep putting them out!

    Lomanchenko vs Marriaga.

Has Lomachenko fought a southpaw since going pro? Gary Russell Jr is listed as a southpaw on BoxRec, but the fight replay shown him fighting orthodox. I wonder if this may be why Loma seems to be avoiding Rigo but would take a fight at 135 with Garcia.

First boxing lesson on Thursday. What to expect?

Work hard and have fun. It can take a long time to get certain movements and forms down properly, and there's always more to learn and improve upon--but that's why it's so much fun: it never gets boring. Be patient with your fundamentals and it will pay off in the long run.

Another Top Rank Disgrace! Lomachenko to face Marriaga on Aug. 5 (Ducks Rigo)

Could the match up possibly have anything to do with the fact that it will be free on ESPN? I'm guessing a Rigo fight would be a PPV. I agree this looks like another easy showcase of Loma. He needs to fight someone serious soon. But his team may want the exposure and press that comes from a free...
