He’s a freak of nature. Hasn’t been competing in MMA very long and already the champ.

I can somewhat relate to Alex, though. My account here is relatively new and I’m already a Sherdog GOAT. So, me and Alex are kind of on the same level.

still waiting for my belt.

notice how he took the 4 year hiatus and by the time he had his 4 MMA fight now his knockouts were one hitter unconscious quitters.

To be honest, he was very average through his career and was gifted the title shot and a path to it. We all know he would not be fighting for title if the champ was not Izzy, who is his perfect matchup, even if he is losing to him most of their fights.

Nonetheless, congrats to him, he got the most out of what was given to him, I cannot blame a man for success. I will just not be surprised if he loses that title against a pretty big number of fighters.

Thanks @DoubleA012 for the thread
This first fight against Guemuel Ottoni is a FOTY...! :-O This guy is eating the biggest Pereira shots full power in small gloves like pop corns :-O What a fight , Dana give this guy a contract...!

Holy shit!!!?? Is that the full fight!?!

Where the hell did you get this??

You'd be surprised what you can find on Google. Lol! I also found a full youtube version, and the link where I have the video posted above also has a full length Portuguese commentary video. I've found that if you want to find a fight the best way is to search by the names of the opponents and then add "Full Fight Video", switch to the video tab on Goolge and start scrolling until you find what you're looking for. So for this I searched "Alex Pereira vs Israel Adesanya Full Fight Video" on Google. I think the vids I found were on page 3 or 4 of the video tab.

Powell was unconscious on the mat for 5+ minutes.

I was really happy I was able to find that version of the video where it actually shows how long he was out. I remember watching that live on fight pass and thinking he might literally be dead.

Being a goat on sherdog is like winning the paraolympics.

Your definition of average is amazing. Probably the reason you're on sherdog and he is the UFC champion. Well UFC champions deserve to get described as average. I bet we could take them under the right circumstances.

Yeah, I don't agree with calling a UFC champion average either. Actually, I just had a random thought, if Jamal Hill knocks out Glover, a Hill vs Pereira fight would be pretty interesting to me.

It's Alex Pereira fight week, so I updated the link for the first Izzy fight in the UFC (same one as below).

Alex Pereira Fight Week!

Updated Pereira vs Thomas Powell to this vid:

Updated the Sean Strickland Video to this one:

Man forgot he got chocked out by Quemuel Ottoni in his first fight. That's a nice thing to have on your record especially when you're 3-0. Dude is 12-3 right now and on a win streak, wonder if he'll get a UFC fight or go on DWCS.

Already got a nice story and way to market him with that win over Potan.

When I made this last December I was thinking the same thing. Doesn't look like he's had a fight since May of 2022 either. His last two fights were going to be for the PFL Challenger Series but he pulled out of the first one and neither him nor his opponent were cleared for the second one, not sure what happened there. He was also supposed to fight Gabriel Bonfim in March of 2022 for LFA. I say give him a contender series fight and see what happens.
