You certainly sound determined to beat your addiction. That’s all it takes to overcome it. I really wish my mom would follow in your footsteps. She has walked miles barefoot in the middle of the night to come into my place & drink all of my mouthwash & NyQuil & anything she can get her hands. Her liver is shot.

I hope you can find a hobby that you love. Anything that you enjoy doing & keeps you busy

Everyone on Sherdog needs to do the same but for porn instead of alcoholism.

Best choice you've ever made bro. A second chance in life. A whole new life awaits you.

Well, i give you kudos on admiting your problems and owning all the shit you have done, there is merit in that, i like that you are taking full responsibily for your actions, you are on the right track, keep fighting it and beat that shit.

side note, slightly related, i really like to drink

Never seen that movie and not a fan of football at all, but fuck me sideways with a spear, I needed that.

I'm going to watch that video first thing every single morning until I'm past this rough period I'm in right now

Thanks for the messages of support. It means a lot. I'm just taking each day as it comes, and I'm glad to be sober right now.

I went to a year long rehab after 6 years of opiate & alcohol addiction. And have been clean almost 8 years now since. Best decision of my life. This will be yours as well. Stay strong you got this. It gets easier every month that passes. A year is worth it for the rest of your life.

Well done, and thanks for sharing.

(in bold) is how I'm looking at it.

I didn't reply initially because it's hard to hear as I've done just as bad. Thanks for sharing. I hope your mom gets help. It's never too late.

I've got art materials. I'm gonna be painting like nobody's business while I'm in here. We also have a nice garden here which requires maintenance. Both of which I've always found therapeutic.

Believe in yourself even if nobody else does.
Are you able to gather what's left of your self discipline, button that chin strap and do this?

A good cantrip someone taught me to say to myself in times like this:
You have to get over this sometime, you may as well do it now.

Sometimes It helps.
