Social [A**holes In The Sky] Flight Attendants Call For A National Ban List For Violent Air Passengers

Wells Fargo India VP arrested, fired for urinating on elderly woman on Air India flight
Air India de-rostered the crew members and pilot involved in the incident pending an investigation

Indian police on Saturday arrested a former top banking executive over allegations that he urinated on a passenger during an incident aboard an Air India plane in November.

Shankar Mishra, who at the time served as vice president of the Indian subsidiary of Wells Fargo, faces charges including sexual harassment, obscenity and insulting the modesty of a woman, Indian news agency Mirror Now reported. Mishra will sit in custody for 14 days as police further investigate the matter, but he has applied for bail, with a hearing set for Jan. 11.

The initial Nov. 26 incident occurred aboard an Air India flight from JFK Airport to New Delhi. An unidentified business class passenger, later identified by German outlet DW as Mishra, drunkenly stood up and urinated on a 72-year-old woman in the row ahead of him.

The woman, who remains unidentified, immediately notified the flight crew about what had happened and appealed for a seat change. The crew told her they had no other available seats, and they refused to allow her to sit in first class, which had some seats open.

The crew instead let the woman sit on a crew seat for two hours while they tried to clean the seat, which the woman said was still damp and "reeking of urine," according to her complaint. She refused to sit in the seat and insisted that police arrest the drunken passenger.

But Mishra sobered up and insisted he speak with the woman despite her insistence that she not see or speak with him. He "started crying and profusely apologizing" to the woman and begged her not to lodge a complaint. The woman said that she found it difficult to insist on pressing charges "in the face of his pleading and begging in front of me, and my own shock and trauma."

The woman initially accepted reimbursement for her shoes and clothes, but she later returned it, telling Mishra she did not want his money, and she pursued charges and filed an official complaint.

Air India subsequently de-rostered four flight crew members and the pilot involved in the incident while the airline conducts a formal internal investigation into the matter. The crew have faced sharp criticism for letting Mishra leave without any repercussions.

Wells Fargo, upon learning of Mishra’s involvement, fired him and called the incident "deeply disturbing," according to DW. Mishra then went on the run, eluding police since early December. He had gone so far as to turn off his mobile phone to avoid tracking, but he made a credit card transaction in Bangalore.

The airline did not file a police report until Dec. 28, according to Indian daily newspaper The Hindu.

An Air India spokesperson told The New York Post that it "has taken a very serious view of the incident, where a passenger behaved in an unacceptable and undignified manner on the New York-Delhi flight that caused extreme distress to a fellow passenger."

"A police complaint has already been lodged, and Air India is committed to assist the law enforcement agencies as well as regulatory authorities," the spokesperson added.

First thing is if you attack someone on a plane you should get charged with a felony. The minimum if convicted should be 2 years in a federal prison and all the great prizes you win with a felony on your record.

This. When I get aboard a giant tin can that's going to be hurtling through the sky at hundreds of miles per hour with no way of exiting until we land, I don't want to even think about some fuckstick making everyone's life difficult during those few hours. 2 drink maximum and the crew has the right to not serve you if they even suspect AT ALL that you've maybe already been drinking and don't need anymore. Period. Don't like it? Too fucking bad, don't fly. Sit in your seat, put your headphones in, and watch Jurassic World or Yellowstone or something and shut the fuck up until you land and can call someone who may actually want to hear what you have to say.

First or Business Class, the only way to fly..

To be honest, once I started flying Business I'm never stepping in Economy again.

The comfort is on another world, same with the food which is actually edible.
But the biggest difference is the treatment.
People in economy are treated worse than peasants.

I travelled back to Brazil during covid and where as you could hear the crew scream at the passengers to keep their masks properly on, they barely bothered in Business... you could pretend you were drinking for hours, they didn't seem to give a fuck

what compels a man to do this? especially one who is very successful.

did he not think his actions through? how in his head did he think, "this is an appropriate response. let me whip it out and urinate on this person..."

Was that wrong?

Should he not have done that?

I'm assuming he was bombed out of his mind...

The last time I was drunk enough to piss myself or do it in public was probably when I was just out of college. I couldn't imagine getting that fucked up now, it makes me feel hungover just thinking about it.

I agree. But I think the article said the guy was wobbling when he walked over or something? And him being that wasted makes more sense than him being sober and just deciding to randomly give some granny a golden shower in the middle of a flight LMAO.

Yeah good point, I suppose it would be significantly more fucked up if he soberly decided to piss on a grandma in public. What a time to be alive man...

He was drunk. Some people just can't handle being drunk; lose all sense of common sense.

Looks like Wells Fargo continues to piss off people

says he was intoxicated

that makes the situation worse tbh. a man who turns like this when he's intoxicated is inexcusable. same with angry drunks

Indians aren't known for their good behaviour around women, even sober, so let alone drunk.
