Adesanya is a better striker than Anderson Silva ever was

Silva had way better killer instinct.

It was a very competitive fight. Silva would finish people easily. Adesanya is edging wins by sparring,silva has done that too .Adesanya just started his reign. Anderson was king for 10 years melting people. Adesanya has a long way to go to catch up to Silva.
 
Izzy can't hold a candle to Anderson lol. Alex is going to expose just how bad Izzy's striking actually is, he has definitely regressed since he started in the UFC.

Anderson was on the stuff and lost to Israel and lost to a nobody in boxing and didnt have a kickboxing career compared to Israel

He lost!

Not mma fights in general, just Silva fights.

Izzy beating Silva is not a valid argument, as Silva was super passed his prime and still stole a round. For now Silva is more complete, more entertaining, and had much better longevity. It's not set in stone, but Izzy has a looot of work to do until it can be true

Legitimately everything you post has some degree of mental gymnastics. It's absolutely laughable to bring up Silva/Izzy to make any kind of a point in regards to their striking.

I honestly don't think I've seen such a concentrated amount of horrible takes from someone over the course of a few days. Slow your roll, guy.

Prime vs Prime Izzy doesn't stand a chance. You are talking about fights early in Silva's career. That's not comparable to his prime years in UFC. Izzy is nothing close to Anderson Silva prime vs prime, Izzy is a light version of Anderson Silva. He isn't as diverse with his striking. Izzy just uses punches and kicks, no clinch fighting, no knees, elbows, etc. Just leg kicks and some head kicks, sometimes some teeps, and his question mark kick to right cross and some boxing. Usually single striking pull counters or lead crosses and those counter hooks he used vs Costa and Whittaker - that's his whole game. Silva has way more weapons. People that are picking Izzy over Silva just have recency bias or is very new to mma and didn't really watch it while Silva was in his prime.

Izzy barely beat Silva who was in his mid 40s in that fight. Prime Silva flatlines Izzy with some matrix sh*t.

No matter if he is or isn't, Silva is clearly a more well rounded fighter. He is just as dangerous on the ground as on the feet. There was no good place to be with Silva in his prime. Everyone knows put Izzy on his ass and game changes.

While Silva might not be the same technical fighter as Izzy, he had one punch KO power which he seemed to land with ease.
 
Let's look at very similar opponents: Hendo and Yoel. Both were one-time Olympic wrestlers who fell in love with their chins and heavy hands and morphed into strikers early in their MMA careers.

Silva fought Hendo, who was like 36 at the time and coming off a close loss in a 5-round fight vs. Rampage for the LHW title. He was in his prime, though maybe towards the end--but still beat Fedor and many other good fighters later. Izzy fought a 40+ year old version of Yoel who already lost twice to Whittaker and was over 40.

Silva got taken and held down in the first round (similar to Chael fight) but then Hendo decided to strike with Anderson in the 2nd round. Silva obliterated him (eating an H-bomb in the process) and ended up finishing a stunned Hendo on the ground. And this is when no one stunned Hendo.

Izzy vs. old Yoel was a super boring affair with very hesitant strikers. It was like watching paint dry except less exciting.

Not just punches, Silva is the only fighter I can think of who KO'd guys with his fists, knees, elbows and feet. A true 8-point striker and finisher.
 
Adesanya is a damn good fighter. But lol at this thread title.
