It was impressive the way he took down Blaydes repeteadly but as I was watching it I also thought that Almeida was gonna gas out badly with the kind of work he was doing and that he could not maintain it for several rounds, as it showed in the 2nd.

Oh yeah I agree 100% -- he slowed down fast

Almeida did pretty good against Blaydes. Barnett got caught like that before and it is what it is. Typically guys won't get hit like that twice. I'm still hyped on him. If he rematched Blaydes I don't think it would end the same.

Unfortunately doubtful. With Almeida just losing to Blaydes, ya figure Gane isn't willing to step down for that.

Matter of fact, I've heard some guesses that the reason they changed Volkov-Almeida to Volkov-Pavlovich is because they were planning Gane-Pavlovich, but Gane turned that down
