I love it in theory, but after doing BJJ for 22 years, I'm just not great at it... although I will absolutely use it to get them to open the guard up.

However, after seeing Steve do this, I'm going to renew my efforts to learn it.

After 20+ yrs in jits as well. I've gone back to simple. Open your guard or I choke...if you don't choke your life will suck

I don't see where he is doing amasa pao when in the opponents guard.
Am I missing it?

He's not. I think we might be talking past one another, though. I though you were implying that the videos showed the old-school A.P. from inside the guard. This is obviously an updated version.
