It is unfortunate and the term don't leave it in the hands of the judges has been around way way to long and yet is still so relevant.

That shouldn't even be a concern but even clearly winning you might lose and clearly losing you might win ala Diego Sanchez style.

Every sport on planet earth has corruption issues. NBA, NFL, MLB, etc...All of them have had issues with fixing games, and always will. It's just easier to see it sometimes in MMA and Boxing because of the judging system.

It's a product of the human condition, and, as such, is present in all human institutions, unless furiously rooted out, and constantly. Things tend towards corruption, it's the natural process.

If this fight could 'reasonably' be a draw, you'd have to find a suitable 10-8 round (which the 5th wasn't), or score a 10-10 round, which you're not supposed to, except under extreme circumstances
