The dude is so under utilized. He's there best screen setter/pick n roll guy. He's their best rebounder and he's actually fairly skilled offensively. But most importantly hes a beast at defending the paint and it just so happens that GS is killing them in the paint.

Anybody?

Once they picked up Love it made more sense to run Thomp. Love. Lebron. Smith. Irving.

They paid max (or close to it) for Thompson so they are starting him, and most teams run small ball anyway so it makes more sense on more than one level to run Love over Mozgov.
Only reason Mozgov started last year finals was because Love was hurt. They didn't really have a choice no Channing Frye and Varajao was hurt. But as for why they don't sub him in more? Not sure, then even put that fuck Channing Frye ahead of Mozgov on the rotation.

But it's funny you bring this up because Love has been playing like a pussy and Mozgov helped last night. But Cavs do play a lot better at home than on the road it seems.

The problem is love can't hang in the paint, hes too small for bogut and other 7 footers. Hes basically a 6'10, 3-point specialist...but hes just an average shooter at best and when hes not hot hes useless.

I basically agree with you that its more of a financial consideration than anything. Also, coaches are scared to coach LeBron and the cavs. Noone wants to make a big move like sitting one of the big 3...theyd rather get along and lose.

anybody know why this can TS starts a separate thread for a question that can be done in the NBA thread?

Exactly. They are paying big money for the three and what sense does it make to not start them? And Lebron is heroball 9 times outta 10.

He had knee surgery over the summer and now his lateral quickness blows. He can't really defend anyone and isn't as effective as he was on the boards or shooting.

The goal is to win the finals right? Best players should be out there.

The "best" players are out there. But one could argue Mozgov should be the next big off the bench instead of Frye.

Your suggesting they run Thompson, Mozgov, James, Smith, and Irving as the starting 5?

Yeah that would be that starting lineup and id have him share minutes with love. Id def use him when GS goes with their big lineup.

He had better finals stats than Love last year. 17 points 12 rebs 4 blocks etc.

Mozgov was took out of the rotation because of the fact he is useless.
He got hurt offseason and has not been the same. The passes he could handle a season ago he turns over now. If we had mozgod last year. TT would not be starting.

I haven't had the time to watch alot of ball this year but the moments ive seen him in their he still looks like a beast. He has a huge defensive impact and the dude can finish at the rim. Way better than love.
