As a GSP Fan, Fedor reclaims Goat if he wins Grand Prix

Nice to see Fedor is the Sherdog flavor of week. Funny how after any event there are several threads that pop up claiming or asking other people on here that (fighter who won said fight) is the GOAT or is on their way to GOAT status.
Fuck

If Mir was in the UFC, he'd be ranked in the top 10, easily!

Think what you want of Sonnen, but he made Shogun tap like a chicken and Shogun is abt to fight for the title. Another top 10 win.

Bader is ranked #2 in the world.

If Fedor gets those 3 guys on his resume? He passes GSP....

GSP needs to come back.. Fedor is out here standing in the pocket w top 10 HWs going shot for shot fighting for his legacy at 43.
Bader is ranked what? Holy fuck you have gone full retard.

Mir has 7 losses in his last 9 fights.

Just stop

My god the level of desperation of Fedor fans....

Dude beats a 38 year old Mir, looks absolutely terrible while doing it, and now you’re talking about it improving his legacy? If Pride fans can’t see the irony behind this with regard to “primes” than I don’t know what else to say. Only thing his fans should celebrating is Fedor managing to hold on to a winning record in sanctioned fights.

Hopefully Sonnen shuts this crowd up.

Sure, but Hendo fight doesn't count.

Yes, if he can get past a middleweight in the heavyweight gp is goat for sure

Fedor beating Chael and someone like Bader would push his legacy forward in a mostly trivial way.

98 percent of the guy's legacy is set in stone.

Brilliant thread (not).

Beating the guys in this tournament at this time in their careers makes you the GOAT?

Boy, the level of MMA knowledge has taken a nosedive, and there were always a lot of idiots here that didn't know shit.

Frank Mir- 38 years old, way past his prime, 2-6 since 2012
Roy Nelson- 41 years old, way past his prime, 4-7 since 2013
Matt Mitrione- 39 years old, hasn't really achieved anything of note in his career
Chael Sonnen- 41 years old, is a natural MW who had never fought at HW in his life, way past his prime, 2-4 since 2012
Rampage Jackson- 39 years old, way past his prime, natural LHW, got fat so now he fights at HW
King Mo- 37 years old, natural LHW, past his prime
Ryan Bader- 34 years old, only fighter actually in and around his prime, but he's a LHW who has never fought at HW, and lost whenever he faced top competition in the UFC

If Fedor wins the grand prix against this ragtag crew of old names way past their prime and half of which have no business fighting at HW..... well then, it means approximately nothing when it comes to his legacy. His legacy is cemented as it is.

This GP is more for old legends GP which is fine you can't expect Fedor to beat HW champ like stipe at his age and mileage just like I'm not expecting Anderson Silva to beat Whitakers or any other top middle weights.

The only fights that matter to Fedor fans are the ones he wins.

This GP doesn't say much about Fedor's legacy. Bellator didn't even put their top heavyweights in it...

Mir is 2-7 in his last 9, and Fedor hasn't won a fight on US soil since 2009. Sherdog is so god damn ridiculous sometimes. This grand prix is a comprised of shot HWs and bloated MW/LHWs.

Fedor > GSP

And it’s not even close.

KOing HWs that outweigh you by 20+ pounds > decisioning LWs
GSP > Fedor

And it’s not even close.

Dominating WW Top 10's > crushing cans in MMA's weakest division.
