At Jones' current age, Fedor was losing to 40-year old MWs

Fedor at his best was more exciting to watch than Jones but he isn't beating Jones in a fight. He is just too small even when Jones was a LHW. I don't want to see Jones poke Fedor in the eye.

care to explain why you claimed full contact sambo when they wear pads and helmets? you seem to be ignoring that.

You're low iq.

Fedor fought guys like Oleinik and Magomedov bare knuckle and with no head gear in full contact rules sambo.

Oleinik beat lots of guys in the UFC and Magomedov beat guys like Rothwell. Fedor fought them bare knuckle with no head gear in full contact rules sambo the same year he had 5 professional MMA fights and these sambo fights aren't even on his record..

You should post less and read more. Clown.

Lol Jones wrestling against his brothers in the basement during grade school was a higher level of competition than Fedors Sambo matches

All anyone nd to onow about Sambo is that Khabib and Islam are at AKA, not a sambo team lol

Fedor unlike Jones was never allowed to outright cheat and have a clear (pharmaceutical) sanctioned advantage over his opponents.

jones has a pulsing exemption, he’s allowed to roid, his opponents aren’t!

Fedor never enjoyed this level of advantages
Correct me if Im wrong, but didn't Pride exempted steroids from drug testing? Also, Fedor were given some of most advantageous fights - NJPW pro wrestlers, basically it's like Usman booked for a non-title fight with CM Punk.

Fedor at 34 getting KO’d by middleweights.
GSP running from Hendricks rematch and retiring at 32 (1 fight in 4 years thereafter against a selected opponent).
Silva’s legendary winning streak comes to an end at age 38 (respectable).
Jones kickin ass at 35 (respect).

Barnett and Kharitonov couldn't get past Nog.
Sure, but not getting past Nog shouldn't have been the sole reason the matches couldn't have occurred. Instead he's fighting a bunch of cans, and then you Fedor diehards add those wins like the were impressive. If Fedor legit constantly fought the best, then I could agree with and pump that win streak up, sadly he didn't. It's almost as bad as fans claiming Wanderleis 20 win streak as impressive, but like Fedor when you take out the numbers and take a good look the competition, a lot of those bouts are against "fighters" similar to Cm punk.

Yeah he was just conveniently not drug tested lol

Barnett had many opportunities to fight Fedor but ducked that fight multiple times which is why guys like Coleman and Hunt stepped up. Then finally Barnett decided to fight Fedor and tested + days before their fight. Fedors fault?

Sergei lost to Nog then lost to Overeem and then got KOd by Aleks and never got back on his horse due to injuries. If he won those fights he would have fought Fedor but came up short.

Fedor fought 25 fights from 2000-2004 and won 18 straight fights after becoming the world HW champion and mounted wins over Nog, Mirko, Arlovksi, Sylvia, Hunt, Randleman and Coleman in that span. He beat the best HWs of his generation when they were in their prime and in their 20s.

The only 2 HWs Fedor didn't fight from his generation were Barnett and Randy- both of whom had nothing for Nog.

Cheers.

I thought he GOAT debate was put to rest years ago and Fedor has never been in that discussion since. Fedor fought in an era where pretty much all the guys he fought were not very well rounded. The Ryan Bader he fought would of probably beaten prime Fedor too. Bellator should of just given him another old veteran for him to beat up as no one in their right mind thought that he would of been competitive against Bader.

When it comes to careers, Fedor and Jon are amazing. Both fighters went over a decade without losing in a sport where a bad decision can lead to being knocked out. I believe Jon Jones has beaten more impressive competition.

I admire Fedor for defeating heavyweights that were much larger than him. Fedor has an impressive resume and has beaten the likes of Antonio Nogueira, Mirko, Shemmy Shilt, and a bunch of UFC ex champions such as Mark Coleman, Kevin Randleman, Mark Hunt, Tim Sylvia, and even Arlovski. He beat the best heavyweights of his era.

Jones is the youngest champion in UFC history. Almost all his fights are championship fights. He literally cleared out a division that was filled with legends; for example, Machida, Shogun, Rampage Jackson, Vitor, and Daniel Cormier to name just a few. Jones literally slayed giants in his sport. Last night he moved up to heavyweight and made the #1 ranked fighter Cyril Gane look like a street bum.

I now have Jon Jones at the #1 GOAT. If he defends his heavyweight title a few more times and goes undefeated at the heavyweight class, his GOAT status will not even be debatable anymore.

gane is a muay thai champion
yes it matterd because cro cop got humiliated in the ufc juiced to the gills
while gane might be the champ if it werent for jon jones
cro cop is a poormans gane

Crocop fought in the best era of kickboxing, in the top organization at the time and managed to fight and beat legends of kickboxing. Comparing Gane to Crocop is a Joke. Gane is just a tall Pat Barry.

It's interesting how you claim Ryan Bader would have beaten prime Fedor but got mopped by Fedors student Vadim Nemkov who uses Fedors same fighting system. Low iq.

Coleman was 40yr old out of his prime, Sylvia was just cut from the UFC, Arlovski was good win which Fedor was losing until a lapse of judgement from Arlovski ended up with him sleeping. You can defend it all you want with numbers & win streaks, but again if he constantly fought top competition then I could agree, he did not. You using Nog as the gatekeeper to the reason why Barnett or Randy couldn't have been competitive with Fedor is absurd. 18 straight fights after becoming champion....but only defended said championship 3x the numbers don't add up there.

"Chairs" - Brendan Schaub.

Coleman was coming off a win over top 5 P4P Shogun.

18 wins after becoming champion is the same as 18 defenses.

Each fight had his reputation on the line. If anyone beat him during those 18 fights that would be the biggest win anyone could have in the sport.

so two fights? also no source? seems legit
