You cannot make this shit up. One of their Islamic groups want a taxpayer funded safe space so their radical young scums can discuss "inflammatory" ideas (PC word for jihadism) without outside interference.

A proposal by an Australian Islamic group to allow "safe spaces" for young Muslims to discuss "inflammatory" issues has sparked a row.

The Islamic Council of Victoria (ICV) said such forums enabled young people's opinions to be "respectfully and intelligently debated and challenged".

But State Premier Daniel Andrews said he was "very troubled" by the idea of a space where people "could be radical".

You literally cannot take this situation more seriously. If one person dies as a result of a government overlooking a potential threat because they don't take it seriously or are concentrating resources elsewhere, they've failed. We're very much finding that out the hard way.

I am not sure are they asking for a youth program to combat radical Islamist views. Like with psychologist in an actual program?
Because that could be a good idea if it's similar to anti Neo-Nazi programs we have in Germany.
They actually work well. But those are real programs with trying and find young people an apprenticeship and other help.

Not sure this would translate into an effective program for Muslims. Also considering the backlash I assume this is not a government idea?
