Movies Bad or average movies with amazing sound tracks

Although it’s underrated in my book, Sunshine has a great soundtrack

Cobra
Streets of fire
St Elmo's Fire

Tron Legacy is a top example of medium movie and A+ score.

I think they're pretty good movies but...

The Wraith
The Heavenly Kid
Teen Wolf
Staying Alive (Saturday Night Fever 2)

...are all not held in terribly high regard and have top soundtracks.

Young Guns 2 is one of the all time great scores and I think it's a great movie but most don't.

Some people don't think Purple Rain was a good movie but I do and it's in the running for the GOAT soundtrack.

What else...

Wisdom with Emilio Estevez
Navy Seals
Maximum Overdrive
Friday the 13th Part 6

Those have at least a good song or two.

Win in the end and flesh on fire are my favorite running songs haha

Underrated movie but:

Super Fly
Death Wish
Death Wish II
Short Eyes
Trouble Man
Last Action Hero
Judgment Night

Judgement Night easily.

Sucker Punch was a let down as well. An instance where the trailer was better than the actual movie. I would nominate Boogie Nights as well, but I know there are those that consider it a solid movie.

These are pretty good movies.
I don't disagree in a lot of cases, but a lot of them got mixed or negative reviews and generally the soundtrack is more celebrated than the film itself.

This was an awesome soundtrack back in the day. I discovered Daft Punk and Underworld thanks to this

Did Short Eyes get bad reviews? I thought it was pretty well received by the critics. I'm actually surprised anyone else around here has seen it.

<{dayum}> how has no one mentioned this

This movie was trash and the soundtrack was one of the all time soundtracks.

Released smack dab in the middle of the 90's. If you remember those days you know what I mean when you could turn on virtually any FM radio station from that time period and you would be hearing stuff infinitely better than anything from the last 10-15 years

I think Boogie Nights is an excellent movie. But its soundtrack is in a category with movies like Casino, Forrest Gump, etc. where it's a collection of top hits over years past and it's like cheating compared to movies that have contemporary songs when the movie was made (Back to the Future, The Breakfast Club).

Nostalgia works for me. <JackieThumbsUp>

Any movie with Hans Zimmer at the composer. Or Ludwig Gorranson.
This was before Hans Zimmer was Hans Zimmer. He nailed the perfect vibe for the movie. Movie gets too much hate for being “Top Gun on wheels” it’s a great Cruise movie

The opening scene of Daytona coming to life for the big race is so good.

Willow - I don't think it's a bad movie, it's one of my favorites actually. But it's not rated really highly on IMDB with only a 7.3 rating.
