he also said they have two different size rings just like the UFC has two cages. It all just depends on the size of the venue. I don't imagine this is in a very big arena so the small ring makes more sense. UFC used to use the small cage for events at the Palms casino and those small venues but they do those all at the Apex now so that's the only time it's used. BKFC uses the same reasoning. He isn't wrong about that though.
That has to be the smallest ring in combat sports, no? Not counting gimmicks like phone booth fighting or car jiu jitsu.
I remember there used to be active discussion on which fighter would have the advantage in a fight depending on which octagon was chosen, with the grappler being favored in the larger ring.he also said they have two different size rings just like the UFC has two cages. The small cage would look silly in a big venue and the big cage won't fit in a small venue.I remember there used to be active discussion on which fighter would have the advantage in a fight depending on which octagon was chosen, with the grappler being favored in the larger ring.
Personally, I think the 25' cage is perfect, but the main issue?
Less advertisers fit
I won't be surprised if the UFC eventually makes a 35' Octagon (perhaps for the sphere show) just to ram in more advertisers.
