Breaking UFC 216 Re-named as UFC 215 Takes Place Sept 9 No PPV in August

I kinda feel like JJ vs. Rose might be on this card, or the Poland card, more likely to be on the Poland card TBH.

Its embarrassing for the UFC that they have to cancel there shows because what they make from conors purse is more then they will make from 2 of there PPV's lol

Has nothing to do with Johnson. This has more to do with the fact that they want the whole month of August to promote Mayweather vs McGregor.

Everyone blamed Jones for 151.. Even Dana..
False, plenty of people blamed the UFC ( I was one) and people also blamed Dan Henderson for not reporting his injury as soon as it happened instead of waiting till the last minute.

So we get no UFC PPV for a month just because of a exhibiton boxing fight?

Well trying to run a PPV with Mighty Mouse in the main event a week before COnor/Floyd wasnt gonna end well for the UFC>

Think it would have set the record for lowest PPV they've done in modern era, under 100k.

There’s been a change to the UFC’s summer schedule. UFC 215 was supposed to happen on August 19th, reportedly in Seattle, Washington. That will no longer be happening, and UFC 216 in September has now been renumbered as UFC 215.

“UFC announced Monday that UFC 215 will take place on September 9 at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada,” the UFC wrote in a press release. “The event marks the promotion's first visit to Edmonton. An originally planned August Pay-Per-View event has been removed from the schedule.”

The original plan was for flyweight champion and #1 pound-for-pound ranked Demetrious Johnson to defend his title against former bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw. It was recently reported by ESPN’s Brett Okamoto that Dillashaw is no longer planning to challenge Johnson, so the timing here feels a little more than coincidental.

Skipped over in terms of MMA events? Yes it is. We get one piss poor Mexico City Fight Night event. Many months get at least 2, sometimes 3 events. McGregor/Mayweather is boxing. I'm talking UFC events.

Think they should do a fight night in Vegas the Fri before Floyd/Conor.

Will have Vegas packed with people, could use that to do an event there.

But if not they have what, 5 events in July and then 4 set for Sept. Doing 1 event in Aug and then having a break to recharge isnt the worst thing.

Most of the media/fans complain about too many events as it is.

They should let DJ break the record on free tv since nobody gives a fuck

I think a Fight Night leading into that Mayweather/McGregor fight would have been perfect. Doubt it happens though. Smh.

Great job by the matchmakers, absolutely professional and this of course makes MMA seem very legit as a sport.

Well, you know you're big deal when you can sink an entire event all on your own. That's some Jon Jones/Josh Barnett level influence.

So much for Dana's tough talk on making MM fight TJ.

Conor is controling everything. What a goat.
