Economy Brexit has completely failed for UK, say clear majority of Britons – poll

We tried that but the Tories just lied and pretended they were going to reduce it. We then voted Brexit as a way of forcing the issue but they've still ignored us. There aren't many other options open within the confines of democracy.

The people who lost the referendum are responsible for losing it.

The biggest difference between leave and remain voters is that most leave voters have now accepted that it was a bad idea. Most remain voters are still to accept that ignoring the wishes of millions of people for years on end got us into this mess in the first place.

Remain voters thought, for good reason, leaving was a stupid idea and were correct.

Leave voters thought leaving was a good idea and were wrong.

It is really that simple.

Promised to voters stuff didn't had been achieved.
1. Number of immigrants had increased not decreased.
2. Mortgage prices went up not down.
3. Rent is more expensive.
4. Inflation increased.
5. Unemployment % increased.
Easy to see that nothing good for locals had happened despite promises.

Most funny thing that one from reasons why Brexit had been promoted were ....workers from EU living in U.K.
They nowhere had disappeared, and additionally more immigrants and short term workers from non EU countries appeared.
& first reality: for highly skilled and well paid jobs they still are hired cos field in high demand and they does have experience and education etc and ...companies still are hiring them and they qualify for visas and permits...
& second reality: short term contractors still are using them and it is legal..howerver now they mainly are attempting to spend in U.K as less money as it is possible in order to bring more real take home money.
They are ppl with different professions, usually used to do job for certain project....
& fruit pickers now are arriwing also from Indonesia and Moldova and unlike long term agricultural workers they aren't interested to spend their money in U.K, to build credit history and to pay bills during long timeframe.
They are delivered, working and doing all the best in their abilities to spend lesser from their salaries in order to take home more....

From the same famous polish plumbers and welders U.K too didn't managed to get rid off, now situation is even worse.
__
Before Brexit they were interested to pay bills, council tax and rent etc taxes because to deal with them for social services etc was easy peasy like peace of cake: databases, 5 minutes and auto algo are they eliglible for any benefits or NO.
1. How long term they paid tax and bills in U.K , council tax too etc stuff.
Don't qualilfy? Piss off and STFU, you aren't refugee or illegal so take care of yourself.
__
Now they sometimes are hiring companies who does have sub contractors to do essential work tasks....these are hiring certified specialists with diplomas and experience for short term tasks....these are delivered, are doing certain short term task and are relocated to next country to do next task in next country and.....doesn't spend money they had earned in U.K ....
__
BTW pretty legal. If sub contractor company is offering short term job and demanding certificate x, y, z , g, h and mandatory experience minimum 5 years....how much locals will change job cos offered 1 month contract?
Then next work task and next batch with specialists delivered, doing task and travel to their home country...with £ ....

Do you understand why we keep getting immigrants into the country? Simply put our economy would tank because we wouldn't have enough workers to do all the work needed, from fruit pickers to IT specialists and doctors.

If you don't want immigrants you need to fix the underlying issues. Low birth rates, poor education system and a broken healthcare system which has led to 6 million people of working age being unable to work. Instead the Tories have gone for austerity, and here we are. To be fair it goes back further than them, and before Blair and even before Thatcher.

Less immigrants won't make Britain better. It's an oversimplistic 'solution' that won't fix anything other than seeing less immigrants. That's why the tories lied to you. If you want less immigrants you need to fix all those other factors. And Brexit was never going to fix the immigrant problem, only the ones from the EU. Now we have more immigrants than ever from outside the EU.

And stop the boats is a smoke screen. We could start sinking the boats in the channel tomorrow, every single boat and you would not notice anything better about the British economy or even notice less immigrants. It's just a convenient issue for the government to campaign about, just the same as fishing rights during Brexit.

I agree with the bolded part but that's why immigrants aren't the solution. It just creates another issue which is that we need an endless supply of new housing. We can't just keep increasing our population for ever, it's just not possible.

Junkie, lay off the curry. It made your brain foggy

Analysis: In purely economic terms the first post-Brexit trade deal negotiated from scratch will save each UK household £1 a year

According to multiple senior Whitehall officials, the Australia trade agreement was rushed through due to the hard political deadline set by Truss, combined with a lack of negotiating expertise and experience. “We were trying to move too fast, with not enough care,” one senior civil servant said. The result was a pact that experts believe was tilted in Australia’s direction — and was particularly advantageous for its farming industry — because of the desire to get the first major post-Brexit deal over the line. George Eustice, the former environment secretary, admitted last month the deal “gave away far too much for far too little in return”.

vague pronouncements with nothing to back them up isnt an argument

No, it's not that simple.

You missed out the part where remain voters thought it was a good idea to insult half the country in the run up to a referendum.

You also missed out the part where we were poised to sign up to the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership prior to Brexit. Leaving the EU scuppered this which I think is an overwhelmingly good thing.

Finally, if I said there was a chance to economically and politically align ourselves with a trading block which is seeing support for the far right rise faster than at any point since the 1930s, would you agree to it? The EU we left isn't the EU we have now.

Looking on the bright side, if the UK's economy tanks enough, it might make it cheap to vacation there. I kind of want to see a Scottish castle.

It's almost as if they were told repeatedly it was a dumb idea

Especially funny is to compare U.K with lesser natural resources for mining industry than 1 Germany or just 1 Poland does have...not alone all EU.
Canada and Australia are very huge commodities exporters, literally russia No2 and No3... it isn't U.K situation at all.....
