When he started pushing forward in the 3rd even while still eating shots, that was pure animal shit. Can't teach that. For someone who had taken such little damage and really hadn't been tested in that sort of way prior to this, it was a pretty fucking amazing display.

If he can get some more experience and cage time without another beating like this one, the sky's the limit for him. Hopefully this fight alone won't have a lasting effect. Gotta wait and see now.

You answer the doctor truthfully. No rah rah bs with the doc. Ortega fought his heart out. The doc made the right call. Corner is beyond stupid.

Have you ever been in a sanctioned fight? I laugh at all these arm chair warriors calling pro fighters pussies, juet because they quit knowing they no longer have a chance to win and they're taking punishment that will significantly reduce their career and cause potentionally life long brain damage.

When a fight is no longer competitive, and the fighter has gone two rounds landing one punch to their opponent's 10, the corner, ref and doctor should stop it. If they don't, the fighter should. Who even wants to see 5 minutes of a fighter copping a one-sided beatdown after already been beaten to a pulp in the previous 4?

This isn't a death match, they aren't gladiators, this is a sport. These people are regular humans who fight for our entertainment. When it's a back and forth war - for sure, give the fighter a chance to win, but it was obvious from the third round that Ortega was badly hurt, tired, and Max was just starting to get into killer mode.

I'd have nothing but respect if the doc let him go out for the fifth, and Ortega called it himself.

When you're already fucked up and too hurt to even have a chance if winning, why cop another 100+ punches unnecessarily?

All you guys would quit after one 3 x minute round of getting pummeled.
