Paul Hughes isn’t competing against Edgar Escarrega. Escarrega withdrew. Hughes is moving up and he’s competing against Fabiano Silva in a 160 lb. catch weight bout.

Cage Warriors Fighting Championship fans are gearing up for an exhilarating showdown in Dublin as the European-based mixed martial arts promotion company descends upon the Emerald Isle with CW 170 as part of its 2024 schedule. The event is set to go down on April 6 at RDS Simmonscourt.

In the evening’s headlining bout, the spotlight shines on James Sheehan as he embarks on his quest for the organization’s gold, squaring off against the formidable Daniel Konrad. The coveted 170-pound title awaits its new champion since Giannis Bachar vacated the throne to compete on the Ultimate Fighting Championship's latest season of “The Ultimate Fighter.”

Adding to the allure of the event, Paul Hughes makes his highly-anticipated return to the cage in the co-main event. Despite a last-minute change in opponent due to medical clearance issues for Edgar Escarrega, Brazilian standout Fabiano Silva steps up to the challenge on just six days’ notice. The main card will stream live on UFC Fight Pass at 4 p.m. ET/ 1 p.m. ET, while the preliminary card will go down on 1 p.m. ET/ 10 a.m. PT. A closer look at the particulars below:

170: Daniel Konrad vs. James Sheehan

Paul Hughes steamrolled Fabiano Silva. Fabiano looked terrified. He clinched and tried to takedown Hughes, but when that backfired, it was one sided.
