If you sit and concentrate on continuity within Scorsese films, they have some of the worst continuity of any films out there.

Gangs of New York and Shutter Island the continuity was laughable and probably the best examples of this.

Great films though.

Casino is fine, but it is nowhere near his best.

I would place Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, Raging Bull, The Departed, Wolf of Wall Street, The Aviator and The King of Comedy above Casino.

I really don't think Casino actually holds up that well. Especially in the shadow of Goodfellas, which is basically the same director and actors making a much, much better movie, IMO.

Raging Bull and Taxi Driver are two of the goats. Casino is just a good movie.

I feel Scorsese’s Top 3 are Goodfellas, Taxi Driver, and Raging Bull.

that’s not to say that Casino isn’t great but I feel it’s not as good as Goodfellas which is tonally and aesthetically quite similar but, in my opinion, superior to it.
