Instead of outright denying the earth's climate is changing. The new movement is to deny that there is anything that we can do about it.

Now this place is always about 2 years behind on cultural issues so expect to see these sentiments here in the future.

Simon Clarke is currently studying for his PhD in atmospheric physics.

I enjoyed this book ~

False Alarm Paperback – October 19, 2021

An “important” (Times UK) and “meticulously researched” (Forbes) book by the “skeptical environmentalist” argues that panic over climate change is causing more harm than good
Hurricanes batter our coasts. Wildfires rage across the American West. Glaciers collapse in the Arctic. Politicians, activists, and the media espouse a common message: climate change is destroying the planet, and we must take drastic action immediately to stop it. Children panic about their future, and adults wonder if it is even ethical to bring new life into the world.

Enough, argues bestselling author Bjorn Lomborg. Climate change is real, but it’s not the apocalyptic threat that we’ve been told it is. Projections of Earth’s imminent demise are based on bad science and even worse economics. In panic, world leaders have committed to wildly expensive but largely ineffective policies that hamper growth and crowd out more pressing investments in human capital, from immunization to education.

A new epilogue details climate lessons from a year of global economic shutdown due to COVID-19, and from our increasingly costly but often very ineffective climate policies. False Alarm will convince you that everything you think about climate change is wrong. It points the way toward making the world a vastly better, if slightly warmer, place for us all.

Is it actually possible to get an objective view on this topic? Doesnt seem so for now.

This will allow them to blend in with the general population much better to avoid responsibility for their crime whenever there is a revolution. Many scientists have been climate doomers for awhile and if sincere its something that really can't be held against them.

Do you think the Earth is always the same temperature?

Have you ever heard of The Ice Age?

The thing you really have to worry about is the next ice age

We're currently in an ice age. What you mean is the next glacial period within the current ice age. There's zero reason the believe that's happening anytime soon. Why would anyone worry about it?

On the other hand, the last time there was as much CO2 in the atmosphere as there is now, the sea levels were at least 30 feet higher than they are now. For some reason you don't think that's going to be a problem?

His books are filled with misrepresentations and misunderstandings of climate science that have been widely debunked. What do you like about his work other than that it aligns with your preconceived opinions on the subject?

Perhaps you should give the article below a read through.

Why wouldn’t we worry about the next glacial period, isn’t that going to be a problem?

If there was any reason to believe it was coming anytime soon, sure, it would be a problem. But there isn't any reason to believe it will be coming anytime soon, so why would we worry about it?
What do you mean? It’s coming right, no question about that?

So shouldn’t we start working on how to survive it?

The physical processes that cause the oscillations between glacial and interglacial periods will continue yes, but given the radical changes we've made to the atmosphere, I don't think anyone could say with certainty what will happen the next time we 'should' be headed into a glacial period age.

In either case, that's likely thousands of years away. You're suggesting we start working on how to solve a climate problem thousands of years into the future, that might not even be a problem, when we're doing virtually nothing to solve a massive climate problem we know is occurring right now?

It's nothing new. There's no stopping it or slowing it(unless everyone on Earth agrees to live in log cabins), so instead of trying to prevent something that is already happening, we should be working on measures to live with it.

Lol… idiots everywhere

Just an FYI, Mexico City is already repurposing water (flushing their toilets with water they bathed in) and there is suspicion that they're much closer to day 0 than they're saying. It's the largest City with nearly 10 million people:

Now, of course, you'll find some reason to mentally backflip into being dismissive of this, but without water people die. And they'd much rather risk getting killed crossing other people's imaginary lines in dirt for even the chance of survival than resign to a slow death of thirst and starvation due to crop failure.
