looked like a top P4P talent that night but the rest of his career is ehhhh.... Dom was figuring him out late in the fight too but was too deep in a hole. Dom now is better than Cody now and would most likely win a rematch too

styles make fight and No Love is a bad matchup for Dom. He doesn't have the power to put him to sleep.

He was from a camp ( alpha male ) that fought Dom what 4 times? 6 times?

Its like he was trained almost exclusively to beat Dom. Game plan techniques etc etc. But vs others he reverts to a low fight iq fighter.

It was a bad matchup for Dom at the time and Cody rose to the occasion that night.

the fight was still really close, even though people ignore that. Cody was rushed to the title and hit the jackpot.

I was saying this 5 years ago

He never actually had to fight and grow into the BW division, he got rushed to the top because of star potential. Sadly he is a very good fighter, but he took two bad beatings by a pos named dillashaw. It’s hard to recover from that shit, knowing money was taken from your family because this lying pos cheated and put irreversible damage on you.

Going down in weight and leaving the division where he reached the pinnacle is a sign of weakness, it hardly ever works out. He just had a KO of the year contender at BW not long ago, buck up and rebuild your standing in the BW division, all that time getting down to Flyweight and it all ends within a few minutes. This will be his toughest test mentally, I wish him all the best.

He ran through almeida (who was arguably the top prospect in the division) and then put on clinic against cruz. his career nosedived after tj was saved by the bell in their first fight.
Almeida turned out to be a complete hype job who's only half decent win was a 1000 year old Brad Pickett (who broke his nose and dropped him twice). Dude got wrecked once he actually started facing good opponents

Why act like he can't just get picked apart by a better striker like Font did a few months ago?

Glass cannons can go far in this business but typically don't make it to the top. He got further than his style and IQ should have got him.

EPO Dillisnake broke Cody’s chin and that’s a wrap. Is what it is.

That's a good point, he probably watched so much film on Dom and had insight from Faber, TJ, and Joe B. and Cody can be aggressive without getting caught cus Dom has pillow fists styles make fights

Does he really have a "bad chin" ? I mean he stayed conscious throughout the fight

Seems more like a bad habbit of getting hit really hard in the head

Cody's destiny was to complete the rock-paper-scissors between him Dom and TJ, then fall off completely

looking back, its a total fluke. How can Cody pull that off, its like Dommynofriends is having his worst day ever

Kind of the same case as Luke Rockhold. You can't really tell if their chins are bad because the shots they get hit with will put out most fighters. They just have a tendency to eat hard flush shots.
