Did you know Russia has their own hockey league..? The KHL…

(The Kontinental Hockey League.)

Well, surely if you’re a hockey fan, you should know there’sss numerous Russians in the NHL..

But just wondering, how good is the KHL?

Are any of their players currently good enough to be in the NHL? Or are they like a minor league organization compared to the NHL..?

What are the rules on fist-fighting in the KHL? (If anyone knows/doesn’t mind saying..)

The KHL has a team in Kazakhstan and in China too btw.. The Kazakhstan Barys Astana and The Chinese Kunlun Red Star’s..

Jw though, how good are the Asian/Oriental hockey players? Think any of them Asian/Oriental players are good enough to compete in the NHL?

(Just wondering, since the NHL is heavily dominated by Whites..)

Vladivostok and Khabarovsk Russia also have teams, fyi.. Anyone know if there’s Indigenous people on those teams or in the KHL?

Well alright, if anyone can answer these questions or has annnnything else worth mentioning about the KHL, please let me know..

Oh yea, please mention the pay of the KHL compared to the NHL, if you know..

(I believe the NHL pays a lottttt better though, from what I’ve read so far..)

In terms of biggest annual competitor, biggest-to-smallest:
WWE - AEW - many would argue it's already a better product.
NFL - XFL - the top level guys are interchangeable with lower level NFL guys.
NBA - EuroLeague - the top level guys are interchangeable with lower level NBA guys.
NHL - KHL*
UFC - Bellator - the UFC is a monopoly at this point, but Bellator is able to snatch up some of the more stubborn fighters like Nemkov and Fedor.
MLB - MiLB**

*Nobody can compete with Canada's combination of population and general hockey interest.
Countries like Sweden, Finland, Czechia and Slovakia have much smaller populations.
Countries like the US and Russia have way less general hockey interest.

**Nobody can compete with America's combination of population and general baseball interest.
Countries like the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Cuba, Puerto Rico and Panama have much smaller populations.
Countries like Canada and Mexico have way less general baseball interest.

Way to answer his question with worthless stats.

KHL is mostly older players, or fringe guys.. The young guys are either draft eligible, or waiting for their KHL contracts to be up so they can join their drafting team.

It's a glorified beer league. Russia doesn't have that Saudi Arabia money to make it legit.

The KHL has been around for a while. This is probably the easiest way to explain it:

Picture what you would expect from a Russian professional hockey league. That's the KHL.
