Congratulations to Vasyl Lomachenko for winning BWAA 2017 Fighter of the Year

I thought Sor Rungvisai was more deserving, but I can't really argue too much here.

Also, his dad won Trainer of the Year, Egis won manager of the year . Triple Crown for Team Loma.

Other winners include: Fight of the year Joshua vs. Klitshcko.

Sor Rungvisai pulled the best wins, but Lomachenko had a great year. Can't argue with it.

On a side note I would have picked the first Sor Rungvisai - Gonzalez for FOTY, while Joshua - Klitschko is more of the event of the year (even it the fight itself was awesome).

Overall I wish Sor Rungvisai had gotten more recognition. He earned it.

I don't think Lomachenko should have gotten the award, but it's not like he didn't do anything all year. Sor Rungvisai does get left out in the cold, and it's not hard to understand why (he has no promotional or managerial interest who has any reach in North America). It's a very mediocre schedule for a fighter to win FOTY, but there weren't too many standouts this year.
