Conor's Proper No Twelve commercial

He basically used fighting to become a household name. Now he's a brand unto himself, basically what transcending the fight game means.

Even losing the biggest fight ever hasn't hurt him in the eyes of the public, which just blows my mind.

Ronda's a household name, Tyson is a household name, Ali is a household name, hell, Canelo is a household name in the Mexican market. It isn't hard to become a household name as an athlete.

Obviously he's charming and entertaining to listen to, but he became a household name because he comes from an under represented national in the athletic world. Americans just expect to be dominant, it's much more difficult to gain traction as one. They are celebrating Irish heritage, not Conor Mcgregor.

When people say transcend the fight game, what does that really mean? He's done nothing for the fight game. He himself is a good businessman who has done well to make use of his popularity. He is an entertainer who markets his celebrity well, that's not unique. As for transcending the actual fight game, he has done nothing to change the meta of competition.
He broke PPV records

So out of 230 UFC events + Fight Nights and other events.
Maybe 500 UFC events, conor has the top 4 out of 500 events.
If you include his boxing, is was supposedly quoted that it generated 4.3 million buys

This is what regular events look like
UFC 228 Woodley vs. Till 2018.09.08 130,000
UFC 227 Dillashaw vs. Garbrandt 2 2018.08.04 300,000
UFC 226 Miocic vs. Cormier 2018.07.07 380,000
UFC 225 Whittaker vs. Romero 2 2018.06.09 250,000

Huge difference, dont you think?

This will not end well. The whiskey would sell if he wins and seems like he is on a path of losing. If he can string a win or two, people will keep buying this shit regardless of it being good or not since this is not a high quality whiskey like Chivas or Glenlivet. If he keeps on losing, which I think he will, his whiskey will disappear within a year.

When I hear transcend the fight game, I think of someone who has actually used a series of techniques that are replicated and made into the meta of the sport. Gracie transcended the fight game. Khabib is transcending the fight game. Conor is taking Floy'd shtick and having it stick because his nation has no other athletic representation.

I mean good for him, guy is smart and a great athlete and I have all the respect for him. But he hasn't done anything unique.

I got proper shook just from watching that

Thats called marketing...
Secondly could you provide a source for $5 to first responders / bottle?

I know I was trolling (trying to have fun) about him working hard driving truck and pounding corks, but he is indeed giving $5 per case is true (I said bottle by mistake - I will edit my post). Pretty sure it says that in the video too. I just Googled it and you can too.

I knew it was 5 dollars a case.
But I wanted you to back it up, and I made you google it.
Its a huge difference between 5 dollars a bottle and 5 dollar a case.

You coulda just said it was $5 a case instead of pretending you needed links. I'm a nice guy and will go out of my way to help someone, so I Googled it for ya. Dick move.

Not to be a dick but I don't understand why he didn't re-record the takes where he stumbles during the lines. Weird.

Conor is the first fighter ever to transcend the fight game. He has become his own brand. Haters should take notes.
haha

Yeah George Foreman and Mayweather should take notes,

wait a minute...

Connor should get rich off this, only an idiot could lose money selling liquor.

Terrible advert

Conor can barely speak, and everyone on earth knows he is a piece of trash as well as a moron. He can barely get these lines out

Crumlin is very dear to my

Heart.

The entire thing is a jumble of non sequiturs, its like a metaphor for conors ground game

I am having a sipper of whisky as I read this, but it's not Proper 12, fortunately.

I saw this posted weeks ago. Conor got a huge promotional deal for Proper 12 from WME but he was supposed to win against Khabib.

I'm not sure he has the fighting ability to back it up at this point. I think he's about to go on a losing streak because his confidence in his skills has been rattled.
But you just joined Wednesday. How can that be? Unless you’ve been banned twice and keep coming back to a site that clearly doesn’t want you here

You sound like a bitter drunk. Fun!
