But people wanted an even number so they pretended Hawaii is a state in the same year to being it to a nice even 50.

This is the last time the America flag changed and remains at 50 states/ 50 stars today.

But Guam and Puerto Rico etc never became official states, probably because 51 or 52 isn't as cool.
