Dana gives an update to Bronsteter about Khamzat, and after pretending nobody wants to fight him and Aaron plainly stating that actually yes, people do want to fight him, Dana admits he has an opponent lined up for him.

Nice tactic though, I'm sure many will believe everyone is running from this kid - that will help create some serious hype!

Sounds like he had a hard time getting a fight for him and they may have something lined up that they are working on but it's not official. Seems like Magny is a potential choice, seems like they are weighing the best option and see how the negotiations play out. It's always like this when fights are under negotiations and not official, Dana doesn't say much about it and always has people guessing. People just figure it out by fighters suddenly stop asking for fights, or they post something about starting a training camp, or possible fight date. People find out once it becomes official. So this type of answers from Dana has happened in the past when reporters try and get information about what potential match ups he's working on that isn't official yet.

Why do people keep saying fighters need to get paid more to fight Khamzat. Why does fighting Khamzat suddenly require more money than what's already in their contract? Is it the risk that comes from fighting Khamzat? People don't realize when they ask for stuff like this they are acknowledging that Khamzat is a bigger risk/threat to fight than other fighters that you guys feel they need to be paid more than what's already on their contract just to fight Khamzat.

But when he was doing it he wasn't saying or talking about anything to lie about. Magny is calling out Khamzat so that isn't a lie, all Dana said is that he's a possible option for Khamzat. Dana was looking up when the reporter was bringing up Magny. Most likely they are just looking for a better fight for Khamzat and they don't feel Magny is the best fight to make with him. Don't think there's much interest with a Magny fight so they are keeping the options open and will settle with him if they can't get anyone else to sign to fight him.
