Demi Lovato rails against frozen yogurt shop for providing diet options

There is really no limit to what people will claim to be triggered by these days.

Demi Lovato has a lot of people scratching their heads over this one -- she got mad that a fro-yo shop advertises "diet" options ... something she considers triggering and harmful.

The singer took to IG Saturday to call out a frozen yogurt joint called The Bigg Chill ... which apparently has low-sugar/low-fat/fat-free goodies positioned toward the front of one of their stores and/or checkout counters.

She writes, "Finding it extremely hard to order froyo from @thebiggchillofficial when you have to walk past tons of sugar free cookies/other diet foods before you get to the counter."

Demi went on to tell them to "do better" ... and hashtagged her gripe with #dietculturevultures. If you're confused about what the heck she's upset about ... you’re not alone.

However, she elaborated with another comment, saying she's gonna use that hashtag to call out "harmful messaging" from brands that she believes perpetuate a society that enables and also praises disordered eating.

TBC responded to Demi in her DMs, which she published. They explained they have those alternatives for diabetics, folks with Celiac disease, vegans and a host of others who might want (or need) the so-called "diet" options.

Generally I agree, although in her case, she's had near-fatal overdoses and mental health breakdowns. I wish her well, but it could come crashing down on her at any time... Wouldn't be surprised at all if she doesn't make it to 40 or even 30 (she's 28 and cut it close already)...

Again, I think this is true of a lot of celebrities these days. But in her case, she has serious drug and mental health problems. This could easily be a byproduct of disordered thinking and not some intentional attempt to create controversy. Hell, she might have expected people to agree with her and is surprised she's getting backlash. She probably has a lot of yes-men and hangers-on who she said the same shit too and they pretended to agree with her because they're feeding off of her and she's living in an echo chamber.
