All the stuff that gets fact-checked on WaPo gets discussed on social media, too. Don't you feel silly having claimed that there were no fact-checks before the most recent one only to find that one of the top papers in the world posted 78? :)

the best way to fight against the weaponization of social media is by having a well educated population who can see through obvious lies and manipulations.

lets make education our main priority. not just for kids either..

It's a tool. Speaking of tools, a WR tool recently told me I've weaponized agreement. If agreement can be weaponized so can social media.

You don't know what a leftist is. Any leftist who respects a private companies rights to do anything isn't a leftist. The whole point of being a leftist is fighting private companies.

Also a WMD wipes cities off the map. This is in no way shape or form the same.

Riots are instigated by facsist police killing people and capitalism putting larger and larger segments of the population into fight or flight situations where they have nothing to lose. No one is rising up because of social media.

In terms of media quoting twitter all the time, it really just made the already existing techique of "finding a quote you wanted to say yourself" much easier and transparent. That was always how journalists did things they just have to dig less now to do it.
