Do you even want the US to be united?

I ask this as someone who doesn’t identify as Democrat or Republican but as someone who just wants everyone to get along.

Recently The Gap released a photo of a concept sweatshirt that was half blue and half red to signify unity but it was met with negative results.

The Gap had to delete the tweet because of people like this...

Biden is calling for peace and unity but do people actually want it? I think it’s actually pretty sad that they tried to do something that could bring some peace but people reject it. If you read some of the comments one lady actually admits that she doesn’t want unity.

I think people like this are the problem. Like MJ said if you want to see change start with the Man in the Mirror.

Also seeing how so many of you treat each other on here makes me think peace or even respect for one another is impossible.

It's actually an interesting phenomenon...

I'm seeing some bizarre posts in FB and tweets and retweets pretty much echoing this:

"...sorry, if you voted trump we cannot be friends. We never were friends..."

"..agree to disagree is shit like when you're discussing pizza toppings, not other peoples human rights..."

i want unity but its going to be impossible without our government addressing some very serious underlying conditions. people went pretty quiet when biden spoke of unity last night. the enthusiasm was not there imo.

we need to fix income inequality as i think that is the primary driver of our division but we also need to address government/corporate corruption too and we need to improve on healthcare--- these issues foment our division and makes people vulnerable to ct's and generally blaming others for their problems.

we have a long road ahead and i really doubt biden is up to the job in any way that will really address the issues we need to address. would love to be wrong about this though. at least he will not be pouring gasoline on the fire like trump was/is.

meanwhile i think there is a growing and dangerous movement that trump is emboldening and encouraging through his rhetoric and that the aforementioned issues are making people vulnerable to that i think will lead to violence in the streets and domestic terrorism.

The flip side of that is Conservatives saying those who voted for Biden voted for the destruction of America, for socialism/Communism/Marxism.

Hilarious that the type of people no one wants to associate with, are talking about not associating with other people, pretty ironic.

Also it's pretty sad how thin skinned these people are, and lacking any self-awareness.

There is no unifying with these people, there is only giving into their demands while also exhibiting extreme guilt, and possibly paying reparations to any group who is not a straight white male. They wanna hate me, fuck em, I won't lose any sleep over it.
