I would lean more exciting than boring if forced to choose. I’m intrigued to watch him fight if that means anything.
Ultimately, styles make fights. Gane doesn’t take risks when he doesn’t have to. His fights are more exciting when the opponent leaves openings and when he has the physical or skill advantages to exploit them. Tai left several openings and was at a big speed, technique disadvantage. JZ left fewer openings and was also quick enough, skilled enough to make Gane think he had to play safe. JZ is also more of a counter striker who goes forward only when he has noticeable advantages.
Gane so far has done exactly as he has needed to in order to win fights. Some of those were more exciting than others because of the opponent, not Gane. Gane has enough tools to control the narrative. He’s controlled everything except the Ngannou fight where he couldn’t stop the takedown.
Would it be cool to see Gane start more exchanges when facing skilled counter-strikers, sure.
