We all know them.
-The fighters that know how to win by doing “just enough.”
-The fighters that are described as “good at controlling the fight.”
-The fighters that are described as “risk adverse.”
-The fighters who could probably finish more fights but don’t try to.
-The fighters that make Dana go:

I’ll start it off with Leon Edwards. The dude is a winner and amazing fighter but man he can’t finish a fight to save his life.

Jones against most Failed MWs
Anderson Silva against the Maia and Lietes types
GSP most of his title reign
Fedor against Big Nog

This is GOAT hating thread right?

I don’t mind as long as the right opponent can force them to go for it. I’d rather watch a guy that CAN go “there” but doesn’t every single fight as opposed to someone who lacks the ability to stand tall, raise their gloves, sit down on their punches and go for it. Usman vs Colby was a great example of a guy who typically controls a fight being made uncomfortable and just going for it. If usman was gonna go down, he was gonna go down swinging. Would rather watch that over a guy who will lose just as quietly as he wins

So basically point fighters. Edwards, Volk are examples. Benson Henderson also

Most of US wrestlers fight like that because they are not taught to finish a fight, the folks just legit dont know.
It takes time and pratice to become a finisher.
Dan Henderson hard earned the nickname the decision in his Rings days and finished his career being known as the Hendo bomb guy.

At this point Jones knows what just enough is and he exploits it. He is playing it way to close and I think he will adjust after that. He is mastered in just enough as well as to much lol. Hope to see more of that but at HW it will be tough

Brad Tavares for sure. Look up point fighter and it’s a pic of him.
