Fun things to do or places to take kids during Christmas break?

Ages 10, 8, and 5. I live in the Northern California area but will drive distance and stay overnight places. I thought about Disneyland but the only day that might not have 1 million people there is January 1 but that might still have 750,000 people. I could take them to Reno and teach them how to play craps.

What are you family men doing with/for your kids during their time off from school?

We are packing up the RV and ATV's and going to Glamis.

There's some kind of Thomas the Train train ride a couple of counties away that we're taking our 2 kids to. Think there's an aquarium visit scheduled as well somewhere in there
