He might have been ahead until the last seconds of round 1, but he was fighting at a really high pace and not landing anything too clean. It was easy to see him losing the fight after the first 3 minutes of the round.

He was technically losing on the scorecards but he wasn't trying to win the first round, he was letting Whittaker come to him and just cause he was wildly swinging doesn't mean he actually did any damage to adesanya truly. He technically lost the first round but losing the first round in a five round fight is not as bad as losing the first in a three round fight.

I'd like to see the scorecard. I had him winning round 1, until he got dropped. That secured the round for Izzy.

And this is all academic, since Israel stopped him. Bobby Knuckles was definitely landing some good shots though. Curious why he chose not to feint punches into a takedown.

You have to question the coaching/gameplanning when a well rounded guy chooses to stand with a striking specialist, especially after getting dropped at the end of the first.
