They actually had like 1 amazing album then disappeared
This was probably their biggest hit
Now that I'm older, I really see how talented Live was
Live was one of the biggest alt rock acts of the 90's. Not at all a one-hit wonder, or even a one-album wonder.
Throwing Copper was the #1 album on the Billboard 200 because it had five charting Top 100 hits, and it made just about every "Best Album" list of the decade, but
Secret Samahdi (three Top 100 hits) and
The Distance to Here (two Top 100 hits) were also two of the bigger rock albums of the decade. Even
Mental Jewelry was a major alt rock album. All four of those albums went platinum.
Throwing Copper happens to have my favorite album cover of all time.
Lakini's Juice is my favorite, too, but my second favorite was this one. It has aged immaculately. It is a seething indictment of the paralysis that came to grip our bipartisan political system analogized to the protracted, copacetic deterioration of a couple's relationship when they persist in their romantic entanglement despite their clear incompatibility long after they should have called it quits:
Amazing rock band, a favorite of mine and my friends from that period, always love to hear them brought up, but they don't at all fit into "one hit wonder" discussions.
