this persona is really awful honestly. The kid is a good fighter and I've legit met and had multiple convo's with him (he showed me the RDA emails thing before he posted it on the web) and he's always been friendly. I know other people who have been around him even recently, and he's been a nice guy, took pics etc. But as soon as the cameras are on, he becomes some random tool.

As a fighter, he's good, I don't like his fighting style really, but, its hard to argue against results. With that said, I don't think I'll ever be rooting for him to win a fight as long as he is doing nothing but talking wreckless. He's eventually going to meet someone with good cardio and better TDD than he has TDs, and its not going to end up good for him.

In all honestly, Colby has achieved great things using a traditional heel schtick, but ultimately lacks some comprehension when he chooses on numerous occasions to ‘break’ the ‘fourth-wall’ in telling us that he’s playing up to a caricature at the expense of us all. It’s such self-serving, cowardice that lacks the truer understanding of what he’s trying to achieve. As is his comments on the individual in question.

What sustains this is only that he wins; that is fundamentally what makes this whole thing work in the context of MMA. He’s not a Chael Sonnen, who was equally witty, intuitive and naturally possessive of his audiences’ perspective.
