"Greater" is subjective.

Fedor was the greater finisher, at least considering his level of competition. Fedor didn't finish his toughest opponents, either.

Personally, I consider the greatest to be the fighter most likely to win any fight in his own weight class. Not finish, win. If I had a gun to my head and had to pick a fighter to do that, it would be GSP, or Mighty Mouse.

St Pierre cut weight to duck fighting at his own weight class. He cut to duck fighters that were his size or bigger. St. Pierre also greased to fight guys that were smaller and he got beat, easily, by an unranked, smaller fighter in Serra and tapped out with 1 second left in the round to an armbar that he didn't even attempt to defend. He said it himself, he was in "awe" of Hughes. True GOATs do not do any of what makes St. Pierre not a GOAT. He may be the Goat of the WW division and a great of the sport but, again, true GOATS don't duck anyone.
