International Haiti has collapsed into Cannibalism. Nayib Bukele says he can fix it

Not sure if you have noticed or not, but none of this crazy shit taking place all over the globe was happening when Trump was in office.

He has quite the mess to clean up in 2025.

81* million people should be ashamed of themselves.
Yeah nothing crazy was happening when trump was in office and it was all because he controlled the whole world, cats and dogs got along, it was an amazing time for the delusional.

Haiti's Prime Minister Ariel Henry has agreed to resign, the chair of the Caribbean group of countries has said, following weeks of mounting pressure and increasing violence in the country.
It comes after regional leaders met in Jamaica on Monday to discuss a political transition in Haiti.
Mr Henry is currently stranded in Puerto Rico after being prevented by armed gangs from returning home.
He had led the country since the former president's assassination in July 2021.
Speaking following the meeting in Kingston, Caribbean community chair and Guyana President Irfaan Ali said: "We acknowledge his resignation upon the establishment of a transitional presidential council and naming of an interim prime minister."
Heavily armed gangs have controlled the streets of the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince in recent days, demanding the resignation of the unelected prime minister.
Port-au-Prince and the surrounding region is under a month-long state of emergency, while a curfew has been extended.

What is scary about the migration of these Haitians is that the women and children get stomped on and it's mainly the young males that get over here. When you see the pics and videos it is some truly scary looking individuals. Not all migrants are the same and it is time we really start to vet who we let in. I know Biden and the Dems want the votes, but what are those votes worth when the cities are over run with convicts from the worlds poorest and dangerous nations? At the very least just let in the women and children and families. Send the young single males back.

Seems like US intervention would still be a better option than the alternative, which is the current state of lawlessness there.
We’re too worried about the rights of criminals and being accused of imperialism to actually make long lasting change. We’ll be too caught up trying to set up elections instead of installing someone competent.

As long as we stay the hell out of it with any of our people and let someone else get in this shit house.
It’s not even Hurricane season yet,
Nature will wash this away..

In the French Empire Haiti (it was called Saint Domingue then) was the richest colony in America and one of the most profitable in the world. They had a wealthy and stable society with opera and picnics in the garden and tearooms and everything.

A computer rendition of what the Comédie du Cap opera house probably looked like.

In the end though they had a rebellion and killed all the white people who didn't flee, with great atrocity. Later the dark skinned blacks did some massacres of the mixed race people too, although I don't think they got all of them. Things haven't been great economically since then.
It wasn't just a random rebellion, it was a slave revolt.

Of course Haiti was nice if you were a white Frenchman but if you were an African slave who had a 90% chance of dying not long after arriving it wasn't exactly paradise.

Yea the good ole days when Trump was in office.... like in 2020, nothing crazy happened at all that year.

People forget this is cause the US let some right wing paramilitarys from Florida(aka hell on earth) kill Haitis president a few years back. Now its all Haitis fault for not being able to govern themselves and guess who is the only can who can allegedly fix it?!

With our current system whenever the US govt wants to do foreign intervention the assumption should be they are full of shit and the people they are fighting are the good guys. If they aren't full of shit and whats going on is horrible its still better than the US interventing.

what fuck is this shit, growing up Catholic my teachers were nuns that made pilgrimages to Haiti...This was '85

no progress at all?
Of course not, sending Christian pilgrims has to end badly because you are making people much, much dumber if you turn them into Christians.
Pilgrims have never been a positive change for any place or people.

Don't forget that France then blockaded Haiti and forced them to pay France for Haiti's "independence". Then France took control of the Haitian economy and enriched themselves for over a century.

When people talk about Haiti's failed economy, they never seem to know about how the payments that France forced out of Haiti often exceeded the entire revenue of the nation. So, Haiti got independence and then spent the next 125 years in economic slavery.

Then because the payments exceeded Haiti's revenue, Haiti had to borrow the money from French bankers who charged Haiti interest on the loan. It was an intentionally designed "double debt".

Haiti was never able to really invest in development despite having plenty of resources to draw from. Fucked up situation that more people should be aware of.
