Heavyweight Division Past vs Present: Who wins these fights??

I think Mir vs Blaydes goes the way Lesnar 2, Blaydes on top is very strong and I don't think Frank would hold him off from getting top position.
Blaydes has a weaker chin and I don't think his top control is as good as Brock's. I don't think it would be competitive regardless of who wins someone's getting dominated just not sure who gets smoked.

Cro Cop (2005) vs Gane (Current)
Big Nog (2006) vs Stipe (2017)

Rizzo (2002) vs Overeem (2011)

Surprised I voted more to the newer generation.
Although some of them are not really new generation.

Some very intriguing fight at HW I've always wanted to see. I've put a year beside the fighter for their best shape. Who wins these fights??

Come on, this is a lot of nostalgia fantasy here-

Many of these fighters shared similar opponents and arent that different in age.

Reactions: JKS
Gane lost to the first decent grappler he faced and looked like he had never trained wrestling or sub grappling.

Randleman threw the best punch of his life against Cro Cop and set it up very well by faking a takedown and then level changing once he saw what the reaction would be to set up the overhand. Gane would never be able to replicate that because he doesn't have the threat of the grappling to do it.
What about Goznaga beating CroCop in all areas not too long after his GP win?

The cage would make a huge difference. CroCop would not be able to cut the ring off and spam straight left - lhk.

Seems almost identical to my list. I think Cro Cop and Nelson are the only differences. In both of those your pics are probably more realistic.

Cro Cop had been having really bad injuries to his ankles, hips and knees at the end of his Pride career and his kicking game wasn't the same anymore which is a big problem for a guy like Cro Cop who used kicks so much. He injured his ankle again when he KOed Wanderlei. He had something like 100+ fights between amateur boxing, K1 and MMA by that time. He also admitted he didn't train in a cage which didn't help either. The GP was one of Cro Cops biggest achievements but I think he was already starting to decline by that point but it was masked by getting a bunch of favorable style match ups in the OWGP.

I think I mentioned in my comments that Gane would have a much better chance in a cage than in a ring. I still gave the edge to Cro Cop cause he has one punch KO power and Gane doesn't and Gane has no offensive grappling threat so it would basically be a kickboxing match in a cage. Gonzaga has the threat of the takedown and ground game which helped him land the high kick, Gane doesn't have that.

Against Gane I think he would kick the legs and body to slow down his footwork. It's a much closer fight in a cage than in a ring due to Gane's footwork but since he doesn't really have any offensive grappling I think 2005 Cro Cop takes it cause his legs and hips weren't shot yet.

Don't you already know ? MMA fighters were much better when basically nobody cared about this sport, when there was no money and when there was no drug or little drug testing.

PRIDE HW division so much more skilled than todays sloppy mess.

Heavier divisions have regressed, lighter divisions have evolved

Cro Cop was a K-1 quarter finalist who fought and beat some of the greatest kickboxers ever in the most stacked HW kickboxing division ever.

Gane was a regional Muay Thai guy from France who went life and death with regional Muay Thai guys like Yassine Boughanem who woudlnt even qualify for a K-1GP. There are levels to this shit.

Gane is a poor man's Cro Cop with a shittier ground game. You can tell right away who the noobs are in this thread.

Nice story but nobody cares.

Crocop got destroyed and exposed in the UFC, that's all what matters.

Cro Cop (2005) vs Gane (Current) could go either way. people will say Gane, but Gane also got dropped by fucking Tai Tuivasa of all people.
Big Nog (2006) vs Stipe (2017) i think Stipe. he's better on the feet and wouldn't allow Nog to take it to the ground.
Barnett (2006) vs Werdum (2016) i'd go Werdum. good cardio good striking great on the ground but wouldn't be surprised if Barnett caught him on the feet with the stupid shit that Werdum does.
Fedor (2008) vs Cormier (2017) hard to say, i'm leaning Cormier but wouldn't be surprised if Fedor got him out of there either.
Alex Emelianenko (2006) vs Ngannou (current) this is a good fight i think. probably Ngannou.
Arlovski (2006) vs JDS(2011) JDS.
Sergei Kharitonov (2006) vs Pavlovich (current) Kharitonov, way better boxing in my opinion.
Mir (2008) vs Blaydes (current) no idea. Blaydes is a hot/cold fighter. sometimes looks like a true contender, sometimes looks like an amateur but i think if he's on he beats Mir.
Carwin (2008) vs Hunt (2015) Hunt. Carwin is an oaf and JDS destroyed him while JDS had a difficult time vs Hunt.
Sylvia (2004) vs Volkov (current) Sylvia. Volkov doesn't throw enough volume.
Couture (2003) vs Cain (2013) Cain.
Tank (1996) vs Nelson (2013) Roy.
Rizzo (2002) vs Overeem (2011) Overeem.

I think if blaydes tried to get on top of Mir he would end up with a broken arm... Brock was huge when he fought mir like 280 muscle.... like literally so heavy and strong Mir couldn't get a hold of him.... Curtis is the same size as Mir..

Cro Cop got KO'd in his prime by grapplers while Gane has outstruck everyone he's ever fought. K-1 isn't mma.

Cro Cop was better than Gane in every way and would have also beaten washed up JDS, bummy brawlers like Derrick Lewis and Tuivasa and poor man's Semmy Schilt Volkov.

He lost to JDS. Gane is arguably the greatest striker we've seen at heavyweight.

Come on mang, the answer to all of them is Fedor.

He lost to a peaking, juiced up JDS 100 fights into his career and still took Junior late into the 3rd and gave him two black eyes and a bloody nose. Gane isn't close to Mirko.
