How did Last Jedi get such a high rotten tomatoes score?

Hell, even the TFAs saber fight was better. I got goosebumps when rey caught the saber.

And before you say the light speed kamikaze scene, that was an example of an idea better in thought vs in action. It completely changes time space travel entirely.

Hey I'm not here to defend this shitty movie lol. Just mentioning the only scene I've heard ANYONE say they liked after watching it. I downloaded it and I still want a refund.
 
I liked the movie and don't attach an overtly political mindset to every movie I watch.

Another massive letdown. I was ok with it until luke did the final adios because it served a purpose and it saves the best for last: Luke fighting in the last installment.

I can forgive this if they bring luke and snoke back.

Red sand visuals? I mean, ok...but this, THIS is what you liked from a star wars movie.

Probably since the movie was geared towards current 8-18 year olds and that demographic spends more time online voting than us.

In politics, kids who tend to lean further left have a large presence, but they do not go out and vote.

I liked the final Luke scene in the cave through the finish of his fight with Kylo Ren, prior to revealing him dying on his hermit island. If he had simply walked away, revealed he was a hologram and survived, it would have almost redeemed his joke of a storyline in the movie.

There was some good stuff like winking to C3PO. Pretty sure Mark Hamill defied the director to actually throw in a decent character moment.

I still don't think I'd ever go out of my way to rewatch that scene though.

Yeah that scene WAS good, I guess the "Luke's Dead For No Reason Lolz" factor just pissed me off. Fuck Rian Johnson, what a hack.

It's somewhat rare that the approach a screenwriter took to creating a screenplay is very transparent from the finished product, and quite rare that I think a finished film or screenplay provides a clear window into the kind of person they are... But I think both are pretty clear in this instance. It's one of the few movies I've seen where I would say the person who made it can't be anything other than an arrogant jerk.

Oh I didn’t like the movie, I just said I didn’t like TFA worse, and thought some of the visuals were good in TLJ. I have said before, the characters are weak. They add things to check boxes to appease the sjw crowd and it sucked.

I think they were scared of criticizing the star wars franchise because of it's die hard fanbase and also to please the SJW's. I think they were avoiding being criticized for being against women since we all know The Last Dogshit Jedi was full of women.

I also remember watching Neil De Grasse' interview in Conan where he was asked in a tweet who would win in a battle, star trek vs star wars. He answered Star Trek since their ship would obliterate star wars', and there was a shitstorm. Same when he tweeted that bb8 shouldn't be able to walk on sand since his feet was a ball.

I'm glad i'm not the only one who hated this abomination of a movie. This is definitely my most hated movie of all, and i'm not even a star wars fanboy.

It's not terrible, but i wouldn't say it's very high, especially if we're comparing it with other movie's scores.
TLJ IS AT A 91% I think..and that was a shit movie

I guess my point was more that if Disney was paying off movie sites, why only do it for SW and not their ginormous Marvel movie?

I actually love Rey and the actress. Finn...now theres a shoehorn. Ok, hea black, but what is his purpose? Still, i found him enjoyable in TFA. In TLJ, he partnering up with yet another minority and now we got 2 characters with nothing to do solidifies their intentions in casting. Again, never, ever wouldve smelled what we were stepping in until TLJ. Po, Hux, Snoke, Luke, Han, ALL under utilized. WHY.

Then you got Crylo. Worst part of TFA. Gets bested easily, whines, and dumbest move ever, takes the cool looki ng, cool sounding mask off immediately. Now we got an ugly mug to look at and every moment thereafter, hea horrible, even by a characters standpoint.

When he killed Han, i didnt mind, but i also wasnt floored, mad, sad, and it didnt make me hate him. Once we get to TLJ, he hesitates to kill mom, showing goodness. Oh? So, fuck han then huh? He gets ridiculed, destroys his cool mask, and gets bested AGAIN.

But i guess they got the ugly memo, so they bought him a bench press set and gave him an unnecessary shirtless scene to make up for what the fuck we have to look at.

Funny. They casted him clearly on the look of han and leia, but the new han in Solo looks nothing like him, but is softer on the eyes.

Rose and Vice Admiral Holdo give TLJ that extra bit of SJW umph that puts it over the top for virtue signaling critics that are trying to one up each other in comparing who is the most woke.

The worst thing in the movie was Leah floating through space and surviving.

See, i didn't find ANY social justice undertone and until after i left the theater and read up on it. That said, i found it to not be the worst movie ever but clearly the worst star wars movie. I even voted it as a 6 on its own poll. But to like it...?

The limited training rey received.
The fact that luke was grumpy, says he wont train, then trains, then helps.
The demise of snoke.
The demise of luke.
That throne room fight scene.
The entire casino scene.
The slow starship chase.
