I'm basing it on medical statistics that I've read. Sounds like you have some well adjusted friends who are gay. I don't know any out and practicing gay people closely. Mostly lesbians are what I see around my town. And recently quite a few actually. And I'm not sure why there seem to be more or if I'm just now noticing it. Less gay men from what I notice. There's a couple of guys I know that probably have gay attraction but don't act on it. There's probably other acquaintances that have it also but I have no clue. Are your gay friends male or female if you don't mind me asking?

One thing that puzzles me is why homosexual tendencies have not been bred out of existence by this point. It obviously does not contribute to the spreading of the human population. Both...i work with a gay dude...he's been happily married for 3 years and has the same concerns and interests as myself...

He has a mortgage to knock out every month, his commute to work sucks, and he loves the Seahawks...

It hasn't been bread out of existence because it's not genetic. It's something that is psychological and it's usually formed in early childhood. We will see more gay people in this country because of the breakdown of the familiy. Dad's in general are not doing there job like they should.

The causes of homosexuality are:

1. Dad not forming a strong bond with son
2. Son not identifying with his dad. Dad was neglectful or abusive or failed to connect with his son.
3. Son identifies with girls instead.
4. Boy is sexually abused by an older homosexual.

If any of these apply to you, that does not mean you will be gay. They are just things that contribute to the likelihood.

Maybe...and mind you this just a guess on my part, It was originally nature's tool for gratifying mammals when there was a lack of mating opportunities with the opposite sex?

Gay marriage doesn't' affect my marriage either, but I'm still not for it. For one, I believe gay sex acts are a sin. I also don't believe it's a good thing for our country to endorse the gay lifestyle. It is not a physically or mentally healthy thing for the people that engage in it.

do you really want to live in a country where people can impose their religious beliefs on others through the government? that type of big government control is what our founders feared the most.

and as for it being physically or mentally unhealthy....why arent you campaigning against fast food? any argument you could make that claims gay is inherently unhealthy, is debatable at best. but virtually no one would claim that fast food isnt universally destructive.

Let me say first that I am not against gay marriage but I'm not going to pretend that it's simply a matter of legislating who you can "love", as is so often claimed. Marriage is basically a contract and being married and having kids comes with tax breaks and other benefits. A marriage between 2 men or 2 women, which cannot ever produce children, would simply exist for these benefits alone, and do not benefit society the way having children does. If these benefits went away for all marriage, which you could make an argument for, I doubt they would even want to get married anymore. Hating gays and opposing gay marriage are 2 completely separate things, though obviously any of the former would also fall into the latter.

It doesn't affect anyone's hetero marriage at this time. But as homo marriages are encouraged and spread, the future generations will have a lesser percent of traditional marriage. But I agree heteros have done our own damage to traditional marriage.

and imo, the government allowing people to be gay married is not necessarily "encouraging." in fact, one could easily argue that NOT allowing it is very encouraging to them. they feel persecuted, and persecuted people inevitably fight back, often by entirely defining themselves by the very thing that you are trying to control.
