I think it's because of how many fights he had outside the UFC. What was his record when he debuted in the UFC? Like 11-0 or something.

I feel like everybody's gotta give the dude at least a little respect for his pursuit of success in the sport.

Dude has only been in the UFC like 2 and half years.

Fought like 5 times in his first year. Won the interim belt. Unified the belt. Then went straight for the two most hyped guys in the division.

That's a level of discipline and self-belief that's pretty rare.
