If the UFC gets rid of 125, it may lead to... more WMMA! Are you happy?

So we all know how it goes, average sherdogger shits on flyweight and is not interested in seeing 125 pounders fight, because they rarely finish (which actually is not true, with the division having better finish statistics that 145 and 135), because there is no one to talk trash and throw dollies at buses, because it has no depth (well, look at 205 right now).

Still, I agree the 125 divisions isn't the best out there, but getting rid of it (like the rumors say) will leave more space to promote WMMA. And WMMA is like a cancer for the sport level, with terrible skill , 75% of the fights going to a decision, and no stars beyond Cyborg (who is like 300k PPV at best). The 115 female division is probably the only legit one right now.

If the UFC opens atomweight instead of men's flyweight, it will mean 7 men's divisions, and 5 women's divisions. Right now we have the average of 2 female fights per card, and with UFC trying as hard as they can with 145 and 125, it will probably increase.

And as far as this infamous ,,trade" is concerned, I think that the decision to release DJ and (probably) drop 125 is bullshit, I won't discover anything new saying that the UFC stopped caring about the sport values. Especially now, when DJ lost and there may be a wonderful time for a Cejudo trilogy (which may actually gain some interest). But well, it is what it is, the ,,champions league" element of the UFC is just not there anymore and I feel like we are back to these old, Tim-Sylviaesque times, when the champions were actually were leaving the UFC to fight in other organizations.

PS. the data about fight finishes and amount of WMMA fights per card is legit, I have some statistics

Evil never succeeds in the long run. The UFC adding wmma to its cards was pure evil.

Fuck no

Seriously

Kill all the WMMA division and the manlet shit aswell
I'm happy

Personally, I like the FLWs. But if the UFC decides that it's not a financially viable division, I can understand (even if I disagree with that conclusion). What I can't understand is dropping the FLW division but keeping WMMA 145 and 125. Those two divisions were a terrible idea from the start, virtually no one wanted them, and they further dilute 115 and 135.

I'm happy 125 is going away but not happy if they add more Wmma. We have enough of it as it is and only a handful of female fighters are legit and fun to watch. Unless they are hot and do porn on the side dont want.

I like watching some of the girls fight. Even the bad ones are just as bad as some of the mens fights.

Get rid of both. If i wanted to watch womem fight id go hit the clubs, if i want to watch 125ers fight ill search middle school fights on youtube.

Maybe they could merge the mens and womens 125 divisions and create a co-ed tag team division.

Perhaps temporarily... but it leads way to them sending that WMMA spam back to Invicta.

I like the mens 125 pound division... I fucking hate WMMA at any weight.

I've seen alot more WMMA that I've enjoyed then 125er contests. So this sounds great. DJ salary alone probably adds a w145 roster.

I’d like to see 125 stay, and add ladies atomweight. The waste of everyone’s time is cyborg weight.

125-145 and WMMA saved the UFC and viewership, and is responsible for the 4.x+ bil valuation.
