For as long as it stays on the feet Poirier has as good a chance to knock out Islam as anyone. We've seen it before, and we also saw Volk rock him. Islam should rightfully be the favorite but it's a fight, anything can happen.
 
Islam likes to play a lot more on the feet than Khabib and he's been fighting smaller fighters. Dustin is a dog. I think this is going to be pretty competitive. I'd favor Islam of course but Dustin can win this.
 
In a sport where the outcome can be decided by little more than just stepping funny, nothing is a forgone conclusion.

If any of those land on Islam, I don't think he has the same kind of chin Khabib did to just eat it.

When someone has power it's never a sure thing. There's always a small chance it goes wrong (That's why I hate betting on the big boys). Islam will be such a huge favorite it won't be worth the risk anyway imo.

Dustin connected with Khabib pretty good, Islam doesn't have close to Khabib's chin. But yeah, still not worth the risk since Islam will be a crazy favorite, probably -600.

Arman is the only one in that division who even stands a chance against Islam (freak occurrences not counted).
He's even more of a nightmare than Khabib because his striking is also at a very high level and doesn't just rely on the threat of a takedown like with Khabib.

Islam's really good at distance, in close his stiking falls apart. If there's a chance he's gonna get caught it'll be an exchange on the inside. Chances are slim though. Against Charles he did it multiple times. He can't get sloppy like that with Poirier.

The problem is that no one wants to get in close with him though so he doesn't need to be good on the inside. That would just give him the chance to tie you up in the clinch and take you down.

Yeah, for some reason he kept playing that game with Charles, I remember like 2 or 3 times in there fight. I don't hold out much hope though. Lol

Poiriers tendency to pull hail marry guillotines every chance he gets also doesn't speak for him. He'll do that once against Islam and it's over for him
