It never started for Paddy, it's pretty clear they're just using him as a draw for UK events and he's not champ material. He will float around the top 15 but get exposed when he tries taking steps up in competition. Here's how you know that's true: Just imagine in your head now if they announced Paddy vs Islam Makhachev for the 155 belt, how ridiculous and non-competitive would that be? There you have it. On the other hand if they announced Shavkat or Khamzat are fighting for the belt next it's believable they could win. Paddy is a WWE-style entertainment talent, not an elite champ level fighter.
