the business models are not similar. just making up a number (50%) doesn't make that the right number.Your argument is fucking stupid. Boxing and MMA are incredibly similiar, right down to the PPV structure.
The fighters should be getting 50% of the pie, or more. Currently they get 18%. Its a fault of the greedy business owners, including Dana. The business models are relatively similar, the cuts however, are not.
you think francis winning was a giant surprise that he never foresaw when he vacated his belt and put on weight for hw?Zero percent chance Jones ever takes this fight unless Dana drops the 30m, Jones has never had such physical disadvantages in a fight.
Jones is a high IQ fighter, he knows damn well what disadvantages he would be at here compared to previous fights and he just saw what happened to Izzy and why weight classes matter at the top level. So I get why he's holding out, hard to blame him. Still pretty funny to see him being a twitter mess, he is clearly a little shook.
You guys are delusional as fuck. Yeah im sure Jon Jones, 26-1 GOAT who ran through one of the most stacked divisions ever, is so scared of Ngannou who took ages to get the belt in easily the weakest heavyweight division ever. Ngannous entire shtick is that he either gets an early knockout or he gasses. Good luck KOing Jon who has one of the best chins ever seen in MMA, has never been knocked down or stunned once in his entire career, has extremely high fight IQ and an infinite gas tank.
The thing is that doesnt make sense to say "i guess i will lose this fight, so i deserve more money" . Winners deserve more money, he should demand a big win bonusZero percent chance Jones ever takes this fight unless Dana drops the 30m, Jones has never had such physical disadvantages in a fight.

You don't think it's possible that Jones is asking for some ridiculous money so he can use the failed negotiations as a reason to turn down the Ngannou fight? That's the most plausible scenario imo. Why would Jones fight Ngannou at this point of his career? He's past his prime and Ngannou is a heavyweight who's entering his. It's a stupid fight for Jones to take which is why he's not going to take it.
Lol Jones & his manager need to start talking to the UFC in private rather than trying to negotiate over twitter.
you think francis winning was a giant surprise that he never foresaw when he vacated his belt and put on weight for hw?
How is that the most plausible scenario? What was the point of him dropping his LHW belt and putting on the weight ? He could have easily faced a smaller Israel, Jan, and even Glover has made it back into title talk.
The HW division is paper thin. Ngannou didn't appear out of nowhere. So are you suggesting that Jon was completely blindsided by the idea that he might have to face Ngannou?
Jon is asking for more money, but for the purpose of tanking the fight? No. I think that's ridiculous. It is far more likely that the UFC is being cheap--because the UFC is always being cheap. That's the most plausible scenario. You have the GOAT of the sport, and not only does he not get paid like a GOAT, his so-called promoter says he should run to 185---and then you say Jon doesn't want to fight because he's scared.
I'm no Jon fan boy anymore these days, but I find it crazy how many people constantly take the side of lying ass Dana White over the fighters. Adequate pay has ALWAYS been an issue. Dana says the same bullshit everytime. "This guy doesn't want to fight", when the truth almost always is that "this fighter wants to get paid adequately"
It isn't a stupid fight to take if Jon is serious about his legacy. He has said he wants to be known as the greatest martial artist--he doesn't get that by not facing the HW champ. Jon is still a young man, and he's much more experienced and rounded than Francis. He has avenues to win. It's high risk, but it's also high reward.
ngannou knocked out 4 straight fighters in under 1:11 and you think it's all of the sudden a giant surprise that he won his next fight by knockout?Jones decided to move up a long time ago, you dont think it's possible he has had second thoughts after seeing Ngannou in action against a "tough matchup"?
No no, you're right. Totally normal for a fighter to beg for their release after watching their next matchup destroy his opponent.
"iTz a nEgOtIaTiNg TaCtIc" lol right all the top negotiators tweet like teen girls going through boy trouble.
Totally not at all the behavior of someone who realized they bit off more than they can chew and are not sure how to handle it.
EDIT: It appears as though Jon deleted the initial Tweets asking to be released...
However he just tweeted out these posts:
EDIT 2: ....and he just deleted the 2nd series of posts asking to be cut..

What avenues does he have to win exactly? Nothing about his LHW run has any relevance to a fight against Francis.
Apparently negotiations between him and the UFC have stalled. They’re still trying to lowball him.
We all know the current state of the HW division is in shambles BECAUSE of their cheap ways. Jon is a DECADE plus undefeated veteran, not a windmilling Ugandan or a 40 year old wash up... they should compensate him as such.
No doubt he’s a great in this sport.
Whaaa??? The heavyweight division isn't in shambles because they are cheap... who fights at heavyweight that is compelling that isn't with the UFC due to money issues?
Jon is a known cheater, drug user, and habitual law breaker, he is a liability as much he is a draw. The UFC spent SOOOO much money promoting the guy only to see him lose his license on multiple occasions and that money basically thrown down a toilet by Jon's own hand. It isn't just about how skilled you are and how many tickets you can sell, because none of that matters if you can't make weight, stay licensed and actually compete. Jon has struggled with that part... You don't see the UFC talking about how Jon fucked them over on more than one occasion costing them millions... Jon needs to STFU and take the fight or leave it... talking about how bad he is treated by a company that covered his ass and continued to spend money promoting and cleaning the image of a guy who broke a pregnant ladies arm and left her on the side of the road while drunk, and is a proven cheater in the sport just makes him look like a huge B
Pretty sad way to treat the literal GOAT, Dana much prefers flavours of the month vs long term greats.
Denied Silva many chances too.
