In a way yes. Shogun was trespassing on his property so Jon Jones went to catch him and throw him another beating.
 
Yeah so apparently some robber came on his property and he chased them off with a shotgun that had birdshot in it. The fatalness and lethality of birdshot is debated when it comes to humans. Jon probably thought it would wound him but not kill him.
