I, unbelievably, have time to sit through a 100 minute podcast and it's what luck would have it, Maynard from Tool was a recent guess on the podcast - his 3rd time. Let me transcribe a bit, can't promise to do in full.



-Maynard has hired falcon-wranglers to clear buzzards from his vinyard
-Rogan mentions that Mongols raise eagles to predate wolves who predate their livestock

I'm in the process of listening to it but I've already heard the highlight which was the Tool stuff at the very beginning. Think I'm gonna bow out and listen to something else.
 
-more on Maynard's farm; nature is important for being grounded
-local politics is less chaotic to be involved with
-being a rock star is crazy making
-rock stars and actors have had traumatic experiences and success inflates their egos
-Maynard has experienced rock star excesses first hand
-the guys in Tool have a hard time agreeing with each other, not as bad as other bands
-parenting tips from MJK
-intelligent people learn from other people's mistakes as well as their own
-watched the video of the nine year old hit by Bison

I couldn't care less about his farm or his wine. People wanna hear him talk about his music.
 
I could never get into this band. So many people say they're good though.

Maynard is a boring, pretentious cunt who has very little to do with Tool's complexity.

The most interesting part of him is that he sings in front of gifted musicians.
 
I love Maynard, but he was a boring ass guest the last time he was on. I don’t know if I saw the first time. A lot of times the guys who write really thought provoking and controversial lyrics, and have somewhat wild stage shows (costumes & visuals) are just super boring in every day life. At least, that’s what I learned from the Wayne’s World Alice Cooper scene.
 
MJK a decent but overrated singer with a winning personality and realistic outlook on life. Sort of a cross between a grumpy grandpa and your uncle who thinks you should go outside instead of play games on his cheap computer.
