Won't translate word for word but basically he said that he didn't feel comfortable being naked behind a towel (obviously since he's from a very conservative culture) so that is why he held it. Also he says that they checked his weight on the scales before the weigh in so he knew how much he would weigh (one of his teammates also said this during the weigh in itself before the towel grab).

Seems plausible to me, he had no reason to cheat when he knew how much he weighed.

There were several guys arguing in the weigh in thread that even though he made weight with his hands in the air, he should be punished anyway for "trying to cheat" even though he was demonstrably on weight, and another claiming he was definitely training in the back on how hard he needed to push the towel to make weight, as if it's not at all dependent on the 2 other people holding the towel up.

Anyway, he made weight with his hands up, so he was on weight - and probably knew it since they weigh themselves before the official weigh-in - so I don't see why he would cheat...
