I just watched Last Flag Flying with Bryan Cranston.
I was surprised it was made since most movies nowadays are very PC or are required to have social justice agendas. However, this is a very masculine film about three Vietnam Vets. One of whom has recently lost first his wife and months later his son. His son dying in Iraq. It deals with the three men dealing with their memories from Vietnam while they take the dead son's body home to be buried. As a Marine there were a few minor things that they could have done better. There is a colonel without a haircut unrealistically barking like a drill instructor but overall the film is very good. Steve Carrell does a good job as the lead and Cranston as always is excellent.

In light of the fact I recently wasted money on Star Wars and noticed that every film advertised in the trailers had some sort of social justice agenda I was very pleasantly surprised that Hollywood allowed a film with masculine themes and Caucasian male leads to air. If this is something you miss in film I would strongly suggest you go see this.

I've been skipping it since I was under the impression it was an anti-war/anti-military film.

It sounds like that's not correct?

It certainly is not anti military. There is some where were the WMDs talk but it is not a anti war movie. It really is about a guy burying his son and his two friends he hasn't seen since Nam helping him get through it.

Check the movie below also. It was very good. As a 'Casualty Assistance Officer' to a dead soldier and his family, I can relate to the experience. I was a Captain at the time.

"Taking Chance"
is a 2009 American historical drama film based upon the experiences of Marine Colonel Michael Strobl (Kevin Bacon), who escorted the body of a fallen Marine, PFC Chance Phelps (posthumously promoted to LCpl), back to his hometown from the Iraq War.
