Marlo Stanfield aka Black Is the GOAT Gangster

Naw. He was too soft. Shooting Cheese was so uncalled for. Cheese was speaking truth.

This was some Simp Ass shit.

Slim Charles was soft? What??? Never heard that before and makes absolutely no sense. He was recruited as a top soldier and proved himself again and again.
He was one of the few standing up to Marlo. I think you miss the point with Cheese. In the end these are business men and its about trust. Cheese couldnt be trusted.
He had sold his uncle out who had protected him all the way.

If you follow The Wire Marlo would have hurt Cheese quite some for loosing the shipment but Prop protected him. Cheese was shown to be a liability all these years for Prop Joe. Thats why Omar follows Cheese as he knows what a dumb fuck he is. In the end killing Cheese not only installed the knowledge of trust between the coop partners again but got rid of a cancer. Cheese "there are no old times" just meant he was willing to backstab anyone at any time. This always gets you killed.

Pfft chumps. Bankers rule world bro..decide wars..run economies..finance revolutions etc

True gangsters

I thought he was one of the most boring characters on that show. He brought down the quality of the show. Stringer and the other gang leader were much more interesting. That gay dude was also goofy as fuck. Turned a serious show about cops and gang members into some fantasy land shit.

Marlo was punked by Omar.
Slim became the king.
By the end of the show the streets had forgotten Marlo.

GOAT gangster ?
He wasn't even the GOAT in Baltimore.
Here's a refresher for you:

Yeah Avon was a lot slicker of a G and knew the game way better. Even to the point of being proven smarter or at least better equipped than stringer bell to see the sharks like Clay Davis for what they were.

Marlo wanted to be remembered and respected on the streets. Instead he ended up forgotten and meaningless.

Slim Charles was a Snake. He didn’t show that loyalty when Marlo beat Stringer. He want that smoke cause remember “the thing about the Old Days, is they the Old Days”. But yet he gonna get all touchy feely cause Marlo killed Joe and Cheese was speaking on it, after he did the Exact same thing after Stringer got and Avon got locked up.

The boy took No Ls. All he did was win and walked away a Winer with 10 million payday. King of Baltimore.

Goat gangster made 10 millions? The Wire must be a really small world lol

now that is a Solid point compared to Walter White but that shits on Tony Soprano.

Tony Soprano to some extent was "small" scale as well tbh
Even being the protagonist of his own series was implied to not be goat anything, far from the top of his own world

Dude had bunch of weakness, few and mediocre soldiers (notice how Furio did'nt had any elite training/ability yet the day they hired him felt like John Wick lol), had to be involved in mediocre stuff plenty of times, can't even keep in check his own family, and survived lot of shit by plot shield... only to be killed anyway
They were even painted essentially as amateurs in the episodes they gone to Naples, and still neapolitan Camorra was'nt even most powerful org(s) in Italy

I think actually tell stories about the middle tier of not absolute best orgs it's part of the secret of some of most successful crime series, see The Wire, Sopranos, Gomorra, Peaky Blinders... actual highest tier figures (criminal, not even counting politicians and high finance) operate at such high/wide level that the tv watcher would not find these stories relatable enough, too distant

Tv watcher wants see people that walks on same streets as him, but they don't take the shit he have to take because they're gangsters, that's the fantasy going on
It works better when the middle level gangster put some asshole at his place with methods that normal people don't use, rather than when a criminal emperor does his criminal empire shit... tv watcher have easier time pretending to feel somehow closer to the former, when in reality usually he's close to neither

Think one of most famous scene was inform an asshole doctor that he have a bee on his hat and slap that hat in the water, funny shit like that got some people hyped

Take away Chris & Snoop and Marlo has no power. Nobody was loyal to him except them two. He'd be dead probably by Michael's hands if he stayed in the game.
